Extruder or hot end issue P2S

Hi everyone! I’m having an issue with my new P2S printer. I’ve had it for 3 weeks now and the prints have been amazing but now I’m having issues with the extruder or hot end. I thought I would try and print a spider man helmet and bought some PLA Red Matte. I started the print and everything was looking good for the first several layers and it was switching back and forth between the red matte and pla black. The print stopped and I got an error that the extruder was jammed. I took the extruder out and a piece of red filament was stuck in the extruder. I was able to remove the filament and put everything back together and ran a benchy test print. When the print started, a big blob of filament (regular PLA) came out while printing the first layer. The print did finish and didnt look to bad so I thought it was resolved. Then I started printing some coasters that I had printed previously a week ago and immediately i noticed that the first layers looked absolutely terrible. It was very blobby/hairy and soon it stopped and gave me a Failed to pull out the filament error. I’m attaching a pic of the first layer print as well as the error. Does anyone have any suggestions? I really need your help. Thanks!!

Hi @Thrasher , that can be caused by a few things:

Wet filament: Is it dry? That it is brand new doesn’t mean its dry. Many manufacturers don’t use 100% sealed bags, even bambu.

Clogged nozzle: Since you are using a P2s, if you enter in the maintenance section in the printer, it shows you how to do a cold pull. Try doing that a few times.

Bad leveling: Try running a FULL CALIBRATION on the printer

Hi @Mprints thank you for your reply. The filament was dry when I had the issue. I read in another post that someone loosened the filament tension screw at the top of the extruder and I back it off 1 turn. Tried a bench print and it was great and I thought I solved my issue but now I’m having non stop issues especially with PETG. I was printing a new part when I noticed that the corners of the print were not printing correctly. I stopped the print and put the PETG in the filament dryer for over 8 hours at 65 degrees Celsius. After drying I tried a test print with a cube and i could see that the corners were not printing and the first layer wasn’t even touching the initial outline of the square. I did a flow dynamics calibration and a flow rate calibration and it seems to be worse. When I try PLA, it does way better but there are noticeable layer lines throughout the print. I put in a brand new standard .04 nozzle to see if it was a clog issue but I’m getting the same result. Any thoughts? I’m pulling my hair out on this one.

Hi all! I wanted to give an update on my issue. I ended up resetting the printer back to factory defaults and it seems to have fixed my issue. I printed the same test cube and the first layer was back to normal and the completed print looked good.
