Its not the PTFE holder or tubes, its loud enough to hear across the room, i suspect its something loose on an XY belt.
^thats most certainly the sound of failed bearings, its not the cutter.
the printer has been maintained under the correct lubrication cycles with ~600hrs on clock. The sound can be reproduced by cutting the power and moving the printer head by hand front to back, the clack occurs when the head comes to a stop when pushed to the back any distance, only in that one direction. I have pushed on pulleys, manually jiggled the belt drive input shafts, nothing but this motion recreates the loudest version of the sound. its been getting worse in the last couple days, now I am worried.
I think you could just have created another “me as well” post in this thread, which currently frequently used.
The thread creator has posted a video sounding exactly like yours. He only has it on the left nozzle. But others in the thread complaining about having it on both nozzles.
As written in your other thread, check for any dirt in all belt pulleys/idlers you can see and clean them by turning off your printer and manually moving the toolhead around while pressing e.g. a towel against one of them.
Yes, did you check if your pulleys are clean? My H2D has about 1000 h of printing. I had to clean the pulleys several times. Multiple different noises came from them, multiple times I thought something is loose. Every time it was gone after cleaning the pulleys.
Sometimes there were only noises while moving in:
Specific directions
Specific areas
Specific speeds
This has happened to me more often after printing ABS/ASA or Bambu PETG HF. At the time were I printed an AMS rack with about 7 kg of Bambu PETG HF. It was happening very often.
It may be something different for you, but so far you did not answer to the pulley question.
if that was true the sound would come from the tool head but its not. furthermore moving it by hand while holding the toolhead would silence or change the noise.
The ones i think are making the most noise are located in the rear corners under the cover. the problem is that i know what failed bearings sound like on a printer(this is my 3rd printer and 4th year running 3d printers in my camera repair business)and I have bad feeling thats what it is, so if i am going to take the cover off I’d rather have spare pulleys on hand so my machine is back up and running as soon as possible. I have a business that pulls ~15k a month riding on the ability to produce parts ASAP for people with emergencies on film sets. probably should have gotten an h2d pro. uploading another video for embed is a hassle and i have things to do but the pulley bearings literally sound like they have sand in them when they fail and thats what i am hearing when i take the top plate off and listen closely to the back ones. i really expected better from BBL considering my x1c with 3x ams and 1x ams-HT hooked up to it has over 1000 hours and never makes these sounds. rebuilding ams systems is fine but failed bearings at 608hrs is just nuts to me. even my piece of junk FF guider 2S made it to 2500 hours before a bearing failed.
left cutter is installed according to the instructions. i did the tool head lube job 2 months ago and made absolutely sure the cutter was installed the right way as putting it back upsidedown was a primary concern of mine, i even took pictures of how it was installed when i took it apart and referenced the manual.
You’re right. There were several solutions mentioned that appeared to resolve the issue, from cleaning the gears at the back end and another replacing a cutter
Sorry if I sound dumb but you say the click only occurs when the head is push to the back, can it simply be your filament cutter lever on the chassis top left when it goes from stored to protuding position?

I was not talking about the head but the filament cutter stopper on each side of the Y rails.
In some instances they were installed with one gear tooth out, can it be be that when you move your head one of the two can release a bit and make the clicking sound?
I wish that was the problem, sadly its now doing it every time i manually jog the Y axis with the 10mm buttons regardless of how far away from the cutter stoppers the toolhead is. I even tried violently shaking the machine with some help from my partner. its def something under tension on the belt
I hope it’s not one of your motor starting to fail that your hear like this guy. Support aknowledged there was a bad batch of motor shafts… In his case, the shaft broke below the gear.
I service failed film camera bearings for a living, vacuum oil sintered plain bearings and even manufacture new ones on my lathe. Failed bearings are my job. I know what I hear
I’ve been running ABS and ASA-CF almost exclusively, the particulates can work their way into bearings and cause race wear. And it would make sense when running tpu for ams like I was in the loudest video that when not running the heated chamber the tolerances would loosen up and the damaged races can be heard.
