Failed prints with bambu a1

My bambu a1 seems to have functioned fine with the default nozzle.

I got a .2mm nozzle and now i keep getting spaghetti messes.

I have put the filaments in a dehydrater for 6 hours, tried 2 different types (PLA plus and PLA meta from sunlu). I tried changing the retraction length from 1 to 1.5, increased retraction speed to 40, tried z hop. I have turned down the nozzle temp from the default 220 to 190, turned down the inner/outer wall speeds to 100, cleaned the bed with warm water and dishsoap, enabled the “dont cross wall setting” (forgot what it was called) and nothing seems to help!

It seems to happen kinda early on in the print. It seems like from what I can tell the PLA doesnt stick to the bed.

If i let it go like this, it just kinda explodes everywhere. Occasionally i have been able to get some small prints to work but they have stringing and just dont look great.

I did notice that on the extrudor I have 2 screws that will not stay tight. They just keep spinning.

Could this be the problem? I put in a support ticket but have not received a reply yet.

Should I try a new build plate?(even though my printer is only a couple weeks old…)

Try the print again with normal 0.2mm nozzle settings and clean the plate with dishsoap again

Just saying > Going half on the nozzle size should come with a proper calibration for that size…
Without this you have no control over anything and can run in circles forever.
Once calibrated and still not good enough there is at least options to try.

I did both of those things multiple times

Okay, I don’t know what else to do, I hope somebody else can help.

at this point i think i need an RMA on the extrudor, but bambu is not responding to my ticket >_>

It is Chinese New Year - no one in China will react to anything for a few days

thats super frustrating :frowning:

Not really, actually quite fun.
The streets are full of people, everyone is celebrating with fireworks and there is good food on every corner.
Oh :frowning: My bad, of course for those not involved it means waiting…
Just be patient and if the support has nothing that fixes things they might send you what needs replacing.

Probably a stupid question, but did you change the nozzle size/type in the settings on the printer?
