Failed to send the print job

Hi,
I have a H2D for a few days, and encounter my first BIG problem.
Not with the printer, but with the cloud we must use due to BambuLab.
My computer is in front of me, my printer is in the room in the back. And I must send my files somewhere in the cloud to be able to print. For security purposes???
And actually, I can’t use my printer due to an “internal blocking error”, that occurs during this transfer. BambuLab, if you force us to use your cloud, you MUST ensure that it works!

I tried to send the file several times, then to reboot the printer, without success.

I too had the same issue… sadly the link is not too helpful… I was able to check the website and my network traffic was flowing but my VPN app (for some reason) was not letting the traffic specifically for this traffic through using the settings for “Block malware, ads, and trackers” … as soon as I disabled this setting (to Don’t Block), the traffic to BambuLabs servers was suddenly allowed to flow.

I tried to “just send” the file to the USB key plugged into the H2D. Then I went to the printer, and launched manually the print: success.
For some other reason, I had to stop this print and change the temperature parameters. Then I tried the remote printing again, with success.
So:

  • the problem was due to the Bambu cloud, and neither to my network nor my files,
  • the way Bambu asked us to launch a print is not reliable

When will Bambu understand that they will lose clients with this strategy?

A well-known issue beforehand, yet many customers still rushed to get the H2D — so losing clients hardly seems like a concern.

If you happen to have a particularly strict VPN or firewall, it might be blocking communication with BBL.

Hi,
Thanks for your mail.
Unfortunately, it can’t be related to my network: the problem appears randomly and disappears randomly, without any change in my network configuration.
Regarding Bambu’s customers, I’m happy to see that a lot of guys buy the H2D. They will experience the problems linked to the Bambu cloud. And they probably will protest against it

How do you send a file to the USB key from Bambu Studio so you can launch the print from the printer menu screen?

The cloud has errors that occur and that’s one of the downsides. But I see using the cloud as taking advantage of a convenience in exchange for providing Bambu with all the printing info they use for making money from like what kind of filament you are using and whatnot. You can always use the printer offline if you’re not taking advantages of the convenience the cloud provides.

Hi,
You are right. I can use my H2D printer offline. And I will do it until Bambu changes its “cloud” option.

I think there are only two options:
Using the cloud entirely,
or putting the printer in “LANonly mode” - which then also uses the cloud

Today I found out, that in LANonly mode you can liveview the print in BambuStudio, but you are not able to stop or pause it. It even askes if you are sure, when you click the stop button. But it just continues printing…

Hi,
I have put my printer into “LAN only” mode. And, to be sure, I isolated it from the outside world with my firewall. Being unable to stop a printing is a small problem: I can always go to the printer to stop it. The real issue is to have to do that for every start of printing.

You know, the mistake is entirely yours if you bought a “network compromised” printer, from a “shady” company. I dont know why would you just trust that they wouldnt have found a way to compromise the security of anything regarding the machine, and I dont even care what you were thinking.
You think the machine is shady, stay away from it. You buying with the mindset “eh ill figure something out” only results in your time wasted to find said workaround and encourage the company to do it again and maybe even on bigger scale with bigger impact.
Did I buy the H2D ? yes , but not even a second did I dare to think that I would airgap it since day one. The printer is hardly polished as is, the updates are mandatory, and its not even like its a Voron or a RatRig, where you can do whatever you want in the Firmware, even if their developers never publish even a line of code. Here , things dont work? Ok either dont talk or do the update. So you cant really airgap anything. What? you will airgap it and connect for the update? And who says its not storing a cache of your prints and upload it later… oh yeah your belief that you know better than them? But here you are , they who dont know better already restrict your flow of work, and they already have your money, so what is the goal again? What did you gain?
In your position id worry more about the machine not breaking down in a month or two, given the issues that arise like dandellions through the snow, and then about giving bambu couple statistics. Except if you all guys make such worldchanging designs that you really think a company would go to such lengths just to steal them … They have designers they dont need to steal your stl, and sooner or later even the “idea” of the design, will also be somewhere online. So what are you protecting exactly? Dont tell me that absurd claim “they might start asking for pay-to-print”… That claim has more holes than a dessicant holder from makerworld…

You are probably right.
I buy it because I had the choice between the H2D and the Prusa Core one.
I bought first the Prusa, and discovered a printer sold as a professional one, but designed so poorly that you still have to tweak it and improve it. So, I returned it.
The Bambu is well designed. I was aware of the “cloud” problem before buying it. Bambu can steal my STL files; it’s not a problem. Actually, I designed them with Fusion360, which does the same thing. But as soon as their options lead to unreliable behavior of the printer, I will do my best to avoid that. First by putting the printer offline. Then by describing my issues on Bambu’s user forum. That’s all.

I get this issue regularly, all I do is close and re-open Bambu Studio, fine after that.

Thx for the open / close tip. Did the job after an hour of trying. Even tried to import the models as STEP. Nothing worked. After relaunching BS I was able to send.

Remarkable: never had the issue since the H2D is in production here. Just updated to the latest firmware and the BS version 2.1.1.52

Now with offline update you can stay on LAN-Only mode for whoever don’t want or cannot connect to bambu server

I am experiencing a very similar intermittent issue with this. I’ve restarted the network with success. I am using Eeroo Wifi hubs. What is unique is my mini, P1S and H2s are all within 5 feet of each other and I only have issues with the H2S.

Same. Sometimes files will go to my H2D, most of the time they won’t. Reconnecting, resending, quitting Bambu Studio and starting again, swapping wifi networks - SOMETIMES these things help, but most of the time they do not.

Yet files send from Bambu Studio to my X1C reliably, every single time.

It also works just fine if I “print” from Bambu Studio. It’s only sending the print file to the printer’s USB storage when it stops working properly :frowning:

haha, as an IT guy why didn’t I do this first!!?? This worked perfectly, thank you

please help, I created a file using tinkercab. I imported to bambustudio when printing it says slicer file dosnt match printer head. How do I change slicer file detail without having to purchase new printer head. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum.

When you slice the file in Bambu Studio you need to make sure that the printer you select matches the printer you are trying to print from.
