Fails to extrude same place every time Aero ASA

The problem:
When i’m printing this file, the filament fails to extrude in a single specific part of the model near the print plate every layer, every time i try to print it, no matter how i move and turn the model in the slicer. The printer also makes some wierd screachy noises during the same circular motion, however the print does not fail in that place. Here is a image of what i’m trying to print:


It is also wierd that the model is symmetrical and the problem only occurs on one side, and the same side every time. I have never seen this problem before and i have no idea where it comes from. Please help me. Here is a picture of the failed print before the machine wasted too much filament:

You can see that the part that is symmetrical in the part of the model that is closest to you is as good as it can be, however on the other side, it looks like the walls has been torn up and shredded. You can also make out that the bottom layer is missingin that part, and that the carnage stops right about the ■■■ that goes out, however the brim in that place is totally fine. There are also the wierd noises, but thay are less of an issue.

I think it is the part that is the last bit before the printer goes to the next layer that fails I think this is the most important information.

The conditions
I use a P1S
I’m printing with ‘Aero ASA’ filament. I know that a lot of people have tried this filament and called it a garbage and a waste of money, and i also think that it ■■■■■■ me off to use sometimes, but for once, i really need it for its properties in this project, there is just no other way, and secondly, i have already found some good print settings that have given good results before, feel free to use them yourself btw.:

I’ll be honest I print asa and the only issue I can’t have a good start of the line on plate. but the rest is good.

I invite you to check the temperature of your nozzle while printing, to verify if the temperature is stable. (hardware issue)
Apart from this I can just suggest to visually check those layers after the slicing and check the path of the nozzle referring to those moments. (unoptimal slice job)

I can see the nozzle move in the intended path, and on the printer, it says 275 degrees while printing those parts as well, as it is supposed to say, but nothing comes out the nozzle. When i think about it, i think that i had the same issue with FR-PC, but i did not think anymore about that because i had other things to do at that time.

mate flow ratio 0.56 ? gooooo change it I use 0.92 for asa CF on a 0.6 nozzle, take this just for reference.

the first layer comes good because it as a different flow set. then it go 0.52 and i think it’s about that.

He’s using aero. A low flow rate is appropriate for a high temp. The material has a fluffing agent that puffs up in a temperature sensitive way to get an extremely low material density. You control the fluff factor with your temperature. Think closed cell foam but rigid

Can you please try to resolve my issue?

I opened the file and there are so many weird settings I don’t know what to say
slice gap closing radius sat to zero I really never touched that.
You sat flow 4 and low speeds but you kept 275°c nozzle temp.
it works until you start to print walls where the flow is approx 3 (i looked at the sliced) brim seems good to me.

Try to print it with default settings…

I have no experience w/ Aero, but your quote of:

makes me think of retraction issues. I can only imagine whats going on inside the nozzle during a retraction?? Expanding material + retract seems ripe for chaos. Have you tried to print a retraction tower in aero? That tiny little two-pillar one. I’m less concerned about the strings and way more concerned to see if your ragged print area follows seams into that model

In 3mf:
-Wipe of 5mm seems A LOT but no experience with Aero…
-A clue would maybe be that its ragged at the BEGINNING of your extrusion path


-Perhaps also a clue would be that this area is nearest the door hinge on a P1. Drafty? Put a piece of painters/masking tape over the hinge for giggles?
-3mf profile didn’t have pressure advance set, which, if reality says for it to be a significantly large number, could explain raggedness at the beginning of extrusions

Based on the location of where you hear the strange noises, could it be the PTFE track hitting the side of the enclosure?

I noticed that Z-HOP was enabled with a height of zero.

I Have actually already taped the gaps on the machine, and it happens the same place no matter how i orient the model. It may be due to retraction issues. However, the material usually just extrudes out the nozzle, so you end up with some jagged seams, but nothing that sandpaper can’t solve. This however, is a whole other story, have never tried that tower though.
