I get the following error when sending to my printer. My connection to the internet goes through a VPN (NordVPN) connected on my router. When I turn off the VPN, I am able to send. So this problem is related to the VPN. However:
I have been using the VPN for a couple months and successfully sent to this printer. So, something changed recently that is causing this problem.
Also, I think that last night I did succeed in sending a job with the VPN connected.
And, just now with the VPN off it appeared to send the job, but the printer never started. Second send did work.
So, sending to a printer in the next room has often been flaky. Now it seems even worse.
This happens when your VPN cannot resolve the address. To be precise, the VPN’s DNS. This can happen from time to time. Think of it like a phone book. If the VPN provider does not update it in a timely manner, there may be an outage for a days.
If possible, you could try changing your VPN’s DNS, changing the location or temporarily discontinuing use of the VPN.
Of course, it could also be that the router is malfunctioning, but that’s unlikely. Still, it can’t hurt to check for updates.

Yea, but which address? Mostly, the internet and the wide variety of host names I access all work. While the problem might be DNS related, I’m not seeing it elsewhere. One address I see bambu lab use is us.mqtt.bambulab.com and an attempt to ping resolves the address, though it might not respond to pings.
I switched to LAN mode and this might be my solution for now.
unger@most ~ % ping us.mqtt.bambulab.com

Omygoodness. This is a frustrating problem. I thought LAN mode would be smooth sailing. But now I get the following error. I go to the “device” page and it seems to have retrieved all the device info. Still can’t print. I sync filament information.
Nice hardware but the software is failing me today.
