For this kind of ratings, please report it and our operator team will take it down.
Iāll wait about 10 days for a response from the user, then Iāll report the comment if I canāt find a reason for the comment on the rating.
Hereās an example:
I got my printer recently. I am giving you my review from my perspective.
and they also give 3 star rating
Hi @Tanklet!
I reported this a while ago and just checked again. There was no response to my feedback to the person who left the rating, nor was the rating removed. I also reported a second rating where nothing happened (not removed, no response from your team out there or from the person who left the rating).
Itās interesting that such ratings usually or always come from low-level accounts (i.e., low level, no models, etc.).
I honestly think you should limit ratings to accounts that are clearly backed by a real user. Should I create a second Makerworld account to print things just to leave bad reviews? Iām not saying thatās whatās happening, but the suspicion arises immediately.
Another option would be to remove reported ratings as a matter of course if the user who left the rating doesnāt respond to an inquiry. So they only leave their rating and then donāt care about the rest.
Take a look at how PayPal handles this. If no solution can be found for defective products or if the seller doesnāt respond within a certain time, a chargeback can be initiated.
Thank you and have a nice day!
I thought about the idea to limit ratings to certain users, and it might make sense, because people need time and experience to understand if the problem they have is related to the model, the profile or the printer itself.
It make sense to me
Someone had posted on FB where they essentially took a popular model of mine and recreated it to be smaller and to use less filament (even though there are several 3rd party profiles that already exist.). The license is CC No commercial, share-alike with attribution. He shared it simply as CC. I pointed out that he is free to remix, but just needs to follow the license. Perhaps I am just being nit-picky and should just let it go. I did not report the model as it just needs that little update to be in check. Some people were critical of my response, but I thought it was fair and gave him the chance for correction.
The next day, a generic user posts a comment with photos on my modelās page (not to any specific profile), showing how it was a a disaster and gave it a poor rating. Iām not even sure it was my exact file based on 1 of the photos, but either way it looks like a printing/machine problem not a model problem. My model can be challenging to print as it is tall, takes up the entire print area and requires your machine to be running properly to get the best results. Most people have good results and have left positive review and photos. To have this negative review suddenly show up from some user with a default name is just a bit suspicious.
Itās not a huge deal and Iām not going to worry too much about it at this point. I just hope itās not a small sign of things to come as Makerworld continues to rapidly grow.
You should worry the exact amount about it, do not let others belittle your hard work.
Protect it.
I think it is a sign of things to come.
Could you share with me the specific rating that you report?
I have sent you a PM @Tanklet. In both cases it is not clear to me what the problem is. Thatās why it canāt be fixed. I donāt see a problem with the model or profile. Everything looks normal for other people who have printed this.
Thanks again for your efforts!
Not this generic user
Reports usually swift on taking down rubbish reviews, Iāve had a few who refused to answer after a week. It has got to the stage where I got straight to the report.
