Anyone willing to share their favorite TPU settings when printing phone cases? Also, your fave TPU for phone cases (hardness, etc)
I made a phone case as a favour for someone. It’s in makerworld. Took 2 prints to get it right because somehow I can’t tell left from right when I turn the phone over to measure the camera position on the back.
My test prints were 68D TPU as it goes an AMS. I am too lazy to load external filaments. I don’t know what the user printed it in.
I would choose a filament based on appearance rather than material hardness. I do not think the flexibility matters that much for phone cases. This being said, I do not use phone cases.
If you want a super soft case, I would print a mould and cast the case from that. Printing 60A TPUs is a real pain.
Geometry matters A LOT for creating the effect of “Cushioning”, and often is too thin to rely on infill to do lifting for you, you should design the shock areas in the model.
