Hi everyone,
I’m working on an idea for a tool that reviews an FDM part before printing and flags design issues that a slicer may not fully catch.
Things like wall thickness, clearances, hole sizes, orientation, overhangs, support on functional surfaces, weak layer direction, damaged geometry, etc.
Before going too far with it, I want to understand what people actually check in real workflows, especially when printing functional parts or reviewing files from other people.
I put together a short survey to compare those habits and see where there’s real agreement — and where everything depends on printer, nozzle, material or use case.
It takes about 6–8 minutes:
I’m also interested in hearing it directly here:
What’s the one thing you still check manually before hitting Print, even when the slicer says the model is fine?
If I get enough responses, I’ll share the aggregated results back with the community.
