I pointed this out to @Tanklet a while ago when they made this change, and it seems they might roll this change back, so i’m hoping you don’t have to change all these links. But the feature should still exist. I hope they roll this out soon!
While I welcome all positive feature updates, this one fell short of the requests.
You will have seen multiple requests for content blocks, multiple boiler plates, snippets, several variations on language but, all meaning the same thing.
Having a single header and footer which goes on every single model may be of use to some people, but, without multiple content blocks that can be inserted when and where the designer wants, this is of little use to most people.
Here is one example.
Imagine if you will, me, I have 750+ models, I have many different families of models, over a couple of dozen of them.
Within the body of those descriptions I add links to the other family members so people can quickly jump to ones they are interested in. I had hoped collections would do this job, but, interactions with collections is minimal and people do not seem like jumping out, scrolling down, clicking again and then starting process all over again.
So, if I could create multiple content snippets and then insert into any model page, I could insert the spinner one in the spinner models, the pixel one in the pixel models, the hero one for the hero models, the app icon one for the app icons and so on.
I could also add the “commercial terms” one on each page, I could add which ever ones I wanted. I choose which if any or several.
If I add a new pixel fidget, I add the pixel fidget snippet into it, publish the model and the update the pixel snippet to include the link to the new model, now ALL fidget pixels have a link to the new fidget pixel and anything else I added into that snippet.
It takes far too long to edit a few dozen models to add the extra entry each time I update the model.
I always say “if only there was a computer in the mix”, this means, computers are there to make the tedious things easy, that is there function.
Nothing I have asked for is difficult or timely. But, the user experience of the designers and the users will be greatly improved. It will also reduce server load.
I broke this down above some months back.
Can you please look into this with a sense of urgency?
