Feature request: Improved "Ext" color mapping support

I am a new user with a P2S printer, with 4 colour AMS. Apologies if this is the wrong forum or if I’ve got something else wrong with this post!

I’m very impressed with our P2S printer so far, but struggling with prints with more that 4 colours. The kids wanted pictures, which involve lots of colours on one layer so it should be feasible to do with multilple “Ext” filament changes. Turns out to be harder than I thought!

Two enhancement requests which would make it much easier:

  1. Could the printer indicate which colour is needed for external filament colour changes?

The “Multi-color with external” option is useful to get the printer to pause for colour changes, but the printer gives no indication which colour is to be inserted. This can be very difficult to work out if there are many external colours. Bambu studio knows which colour is which, so could the printer show that colour in the prompt when it’s ready to switch?

This came up when printing a 9 colour picture to hang on the bedroom door. It turned out to be almost impossible to work out which colour the printer wanted for each colour change. I think I would have had to step through the print process to work out exactly where the printer was for each change.

  1. Could the “Print Plate” dialog remember colour mappings?

Would it be possible for the “Print Plate” dialog to remember which colours were set to which AMS or Ext filament?

At the moment if I can set up multiple mappings (e.g. using multiple “Ext” colours, and “Multi-color with external”) but if I close the dialog and go back to the “Prepare” phase the “Print Plate” dialog forgets all my colour mappings and I have to start again each time I bring it up. Even just remembering which colours were set to “Ext” would be useful.

Best way is to fork out $$$ for another AMS. BBL eco doesn’t play nice with manual G-code modifying for pausing and changing filament manually mid print.

Like, you have 4 AMS = 16 different rolls = 16 distinctive colors in your color palette. Then you sync what you colors you already installed in the AMSes to the current project color palette. Then you can work from there.

When print, it will automatically match the nearest color of the current palette to what you have installed inside the AMSes. You can manually map your current palette to slots in the AMSes, but that was not the way it supposed to work, as it will reset and automatically map nearest color each time you send print.
