Please add a “Percentage Of Filament Left On Spool”countdown indicator and low percentage warning for each spool to the software (Bambu Handy). Since you use black tape to hold down the end of the filament on the spool, it can cause the print to throw an error. This is bad for large long prints when it is suppose to switch to another spool of the same type of filament. With a percentage indicator that shows what’s left on the spool, I can get a warning that tells me to check the spool because it’s close to the end and will need to be monitored closely. Your graphics that are in the software are very nice and clear. But it’s just a bar that really is a poor measurement for showing just how much filament is left on the spool. I know this is a feature request and not seeking a solution.
In case you are unaware of how the process works now to show the visual representation use the filament colour in the device tab or the little bar abide the swatches in the print window, let me explain. If you do, this may be of use to others.
The feature only works with Bambu Lab filaments as it requires the RFID tags in the filament already on a spool or a refill you add to the spool yourself.
You need to enable the feature to have it work (for others, you clearly know).
The process uses a rotation of the spool in an AMS slot. As the rotating spool passes the RFID reader built into the AMS on each rotation, that provides a start and stop point. At the same time the number of times the gears are rotated is counted. These two values can be used in a calculation to determine how much material was moved during a rotation. That number translates to a circumference of a circle. Knowing that value tells the printer where within the spool that circumference matches. Smaller number are closer to the middle and thus the end of the spool, larger values mean it is close to the outer edge and thus near the start of the spool.
It is both simple and smart. It is not perfect and subject to inaccuracies.

I like the concept, it would be useful and the fact it isn’t a perfect calculation, shouldn’t mean it couldn’t provide real value.
Ya, I understand how it all works, it would just be more useful as an indicator and having it send a warning message about the spool being very low on filament would make it ideal.
Be even better if they would stop taping the filament to the spool so the automatic switch to a new spool could work again.

I have filament cutters installed on most slots. Tangles and end of spool issues have really disappeared.
