Currently, the firmware for the AMS Pro 2 and AMS HT lets me run a drying cycle – “I want this temperature for this length of time.” I’d personally like the ability to say “The filament is already dry; I just want it to stay that way. So just monitor the relative humidity in the AMS, and if it gets above a set level, turn on the dryer for just long enough to bring the humidity down again.” That would let me keep the filament in good shape, and save power by not running the dryer unnecessarily.

That is one I have asked them to implement many times. Let’s hope they listen this time.

The main problem today is that when the printer is powered off, all AMS units are completely inactive. To make this genuinely useful, the AMS units would need to be able to operate even when the printer itself is not powered on.
All of my AMS units have external power supplies, so in principle they could remain active and function as dry storage even when the printer is turned off.
Came to this section of the forums specifically to see if someone had already asked about this. Since there are humidity sensors already, seems like a not difficult software change. Given that this has been a feature on the Sunlu S4, I was frankly surprised that it was not a feature of the AMS 2.
