Can we have some kind of reply button when you get the “Someone boosted my model” message in Makerworld / Bambu Handy?
When someone rates, or posts a comment we can reply and say thanks etc… when someone boosts without doing those things, the only way you can really do it is to go to their profile and message them.
I’m grateful for any boosts I get / have got, would be nice to be able to say thank you to those boosting my models.
actually, this is one of those small little features which if implemented will prove useful to both the creator and the person who boosted the model. Trust me @MakerWorld, you should take this feature into serious consideration!
This is exactly what I have been doing also. It would be nice if there was a button that would automatically go to that model and open up a comment with them "@"ed.
I currently click on there name (because their @ is not provided in the notification) copy it, then go back to link to the model boosted. Next, I have to scroll down to add a comment and paste in what was copied and proceed to type my thanks.
I am okay with this process, that is why I still do it. But I would love if there were a better way.
This is what people who get rare boosts think. I was like that too. When you get hundreds or thousands of boosts, you won’t have that same zeal.
By and large, a boost is a thank you for the model. A single user gets more for a model than the author for a boost. But if you really want to, then the people giving the boost are not too lazy to put a rating, you can thank them there.
When I was only getting them rarely, I’d take the time to say thanks with a message. Where I’ve recently had a bit of success with a popular model, I raised this as I wanted an easier way to say thanks.
The point is, they don’t have to give you a boost, they could give that boost to someone who’s uploaded some AI slop or yet-another-articulated-dragon, but they chose you.
I’d appreciate seeing how “engaged” a user has been with my account. For example, when I click on a user’s profile or to DM them, I’d like to know the following:
Total amount of boosts they’ve given me. Seeing the dates would help too.
Total downloads of my models from this user
Total prints of my models
Number of ratings received and average rating
Total comments they’ve posted on my model pages
Are they a follower?
Are they a commercial subscriber. I don’t currently participate in the commercial license program, but I imagine this would be useful to know at a glance.
All of this would help me prioritize where I invest my engagement.
