FedEx DESTROYED my new printer

Yes, it’s mangled. Fedex sucks.
Worse yet I was on bambi suckport for 4 hours before a human ever came on and did little to nothing to solve the problem but pass the buck.

I’m now out $3500 and have nothing to show for it but a POS.

Own 2x X1C and have 4000 hours on them, so not a newbie, but this totally sucks and bambi is not handling this well.

Disgusted.

I suspect Bambu Lab will want you to deal with FedEx directly as they can rarely be bothered to fulfil their legal obligations.

I assume you are in the US.

Did you pay by card or PayPal? You can request a charge back (or the equivalent) as Bambu Lab have yet to provide you with a working printer.

The delivery company they chose is not your fault and their failure is not your to rectify.

Bambu Lab will not do what they should until money is taken away from them and they then suddenly tend to move quickly.

(replying to @MonsterMaxx)

Fedex has buyer protection. You will be fine.

Open a ticket instead of trying to do a chat. Of course you are not going to get a representative.

Take plenty of pictures and dont mess with anything.

Could the packaging be better? Of course

Is this only Bambu’s issue? No way

Deal with FedEx. Their support is a whole lot better.

Good thinking. But charge backs should only be used after all other directions are taken. You receive a product, yet defective, a chargeback would be considered theft.

Be patient.

In the future, I always recommend buying from a retail store, specifically Microcenter.

I never assumed the OP would keep the printer; it is damaged. The banks usually tell you to ship it back as part of the process.

Usually, the threat of this action will kick Bambu Lab into decent action.

Sorry you are having such a crappy experience, but support is the only one who can solve it for you. There is no point to contacting Fedex, you are not their customer, so I’m interested in when you said support “passed the buck” what exactly did they say?

If support initiated an insurance claim with Fedex eventually they (Fedex) might send someone out to inspect it, but usually that takes quite a while.

Did support ask if you videotaped the unpacking? That seems to be their modus operandi now, and of course you don’t need to.

The threat is the important part.

An offical chargeback should not be near the top of the list.

I assume, by how @MonsterMaxx wrote the original post, that the machine arrived today. Don’t want them going down that messy process without using other resources first.

You realise it was Bambu Lab who used FedEx, not @CincinnatiDesigns nor the OP @MonsterMaxx.

If the customer could choose, we would select a competent company for our local area.

Any shipping company is going to have issues. Especially with large and heavy packages.

That has nothing to do with FedEx. The same issue would occur with ups, yunexpress, ontrac, dhl, etc.

Exactly. UPS is the best in my area, though it is terrible in more urban areas where carriers like ontrac or yunexpress thrive.

So why not use FedEx. Other shipping carriers have issues as well. Your statement is too general to be constructive to the topic.

I know Bambu packs their stuff pretty well, but as a former UPS driver you would not believe the punishment stuff goes through from the planes to the conveyors to the trucks to the doorstep…

UPS is a little more careful than Fed Ex, as they are union ran and have pretty strict policies for the drivers… but the loaders are minimum wage so they can be a bit reckless.

Fed Ex is pretty much individual contractors that kind of run their own little services they have a more laxed policy (this is why we got paid almost twice what they made)

That being said unfortunately i have had both of them delivery printers for me (no accidents yet) so I guess Bambu just decides who delivers for each individual case.

I would definitely file a claim with Fed Ex, as they are contracted to deliver it and most likely its stock that was already in the US.

I know its frustrating and Bambu support is slow as hell, but they do come through eventually.

Sorry but at least you got machines to keep you busy while it gets sorted out. Good luck

relevant picture my truck back when Dell was a popular thing…this end everyway but up

I contacted FedEx, they told me it was delivered, I said yea, destroyed, they said I must deal with the shipper = bambu labs.

I’ve now contacted Bambu 4 different ways and gotten nowhere. No response whatsoever for 4 days now.

I’m out $3500 and am really starting to get pissed

Any response?

If not, time for a charge back.

Send the photos showing the damaged to Bambu Lab so they can start the claim with Fedex.

Once they resolve it with Fedex, i.e. Fedex acknowledges their responsibility for causing the damage (and thus allow BL to get their money), BL will send you a new one (why wouldn’t they?)

Fedex in my area also has the same reputation (not limiting to printers). It’s frustrating, but you are not the only one who has to go through this process.

Call them out publicly with a suitably accurate TrustPilot review.

They came back to me within 24 hours after sharing my experience after they emailed me asking me to. I was complaining about past significant failures.

Bambu finally replied. They expect me to take all kinds of pictures, unpack and inspect the printer, then repack it. Then they will pick it up at their leisure and 30 days or so from now they may or may not replace the destroyed printer depending on what their inspection reveals.

I guess it’s time to dispute the charge on my cc co and reorder. BAMBU, your customer service sucks.

I have a job to do and screwing around with them is NOT on my list of tasks!

I received a package a few days ago, not sure of carrier, that actually had “Do Not Stomp” printed on it and showed a boot with a No circle (circle with a line) over it. Made me think of the ups (i think) driver that got busted a few decades back for sorting packages in his truck, dropping small ones from jewlers and such on the floor and literally marching on them until they came open and he could grab the contents. Then the box would arrive with “damaged in shipment contents lost” or such.

I think you are fighting the wrong party. If Fedex damaged the printer, both you and Bambu Lab are the victims. You can work together.

If you have time to write posts here, you have time to take photos

Chargeback is not the cure-all that some make it sounds like.

It doesn’t alway work. Success is not guaranteed.

It has side effects. One or two occasional instances may be fine, but using it liberally can indirectly affect one’s credit score or even lead to one’s account getting canceled. There are bad actors out there who are not interested in building business but rather scamming customers, but there are also people out there abusing chargeback to get free products. Banks and credit card companies are aware of this.

Chargeback should be used only as the very last resort, ie. when one absolutely has to use it.

Well… we are in the age of “the gps told me to drive in the river…”. The romans had lead everywhere, we have tech and the internet.

Bambu’s liability is the machine itself, the carraige of the machine is the carriers remit.
In an ideal world you get to check the item before you accept it from the carrier so if it’s been broken in transit you simply don’t accept the delivery and the carrier returns it to sender who then reship a replacement.
In the real world you accept the package and check it to find it’s been broken in transit, then you have to work with the SUPPLIER as they have the contract with the carrier so you cannot act directly with said carrier.
It does all end up a PIA.

I had a Fractal design R6 PC case delivered, it was left while I was out. One corner of the box was crushed and there were two distinct boot marks on the box. A tempered glass panel was broken and one corner of the case and a removeable panel bent. It didn’t help that this was a recently out of production case and there were no replacement panels available.
I gave up trying to get any redress after 2 months and over 30 hours of phone calls and just fixed it myself.
The system is generally biased against you getting any redress from a carrier.

That is not true in the U.K. nor in the US.

The seller is responsible for getting the product to the purchaser in a working and undamaged. It is the seller who chooses and contracts the deliver partner, the purchaser has no control or contract with them.

While the carrier is liable for damage they cause, it the seller who is responsible for resolving the problem in a timely manner without cost or lose to the purchaser.

It has been a very long time since anyone was able to inspect a package prior to accepting it in the U.K. (I can’t speak to the US, but I suspect the same). Signing for a package is not an acceptance that the goods have been checked or an acknowledgment they are undamaged.

Weird, you started by saying it has nothing to do with the supplier.

Nope. The law is on the side of the purchaser.
