Looking into printing a pool skimmer, mainly due to the fact the company is out of business and can’t find a replacement. Looking into filaments that will withstand chlorinated water, I found ASA. Just curious if anyone has done anything for in pools other than ASA and how it held up. I don’t yet have an engineering plate or any expierence with ASA, between that and the VOC’s I was trying to avoid that. But if it’s the only choice, I will go with it.
ABS isn’t good for prolonged Chlorine exposure, so I’m surprised ASA is.
Polypropylene (PP) is probably your best choice. It’s definitely far superior to ABS. You’ll need an enclosed printer for it, though, it likes to warp.

Interesting question. PVDF seems to behave much less critically in 3D printing than PP. From a chemical standpoint it would be very well suited, but it is quite expensive (around 200 USD/kg). Overall, ASA is probably the best compromise: easy to print, UV-resistant, and sufficiently durable. If it eventually gets attacked by chlorine, the part can simply be discarded and reprinted.
