Ok, so I got a notification in Bambu Handy today stating that my filament wasn’t loading properly or something while I was letting a print do it’s thing while I was away. When I got home I discovered that the spool had separated while in the AMS and as it was a brand new spool, and of course I’m new to all of this-less than a month or so in-so I opened it and took out the filament committing the cardinal sin of NOT holding onto the tag end once I pulled it from the AMS. I simply didn’t know. Rookie mistake, I now know. That said, the spool would not go back together anyways as the filament had spread out to occupy it’s newfound freedom. Not that it would matter now because while messing with it I’ve created an even bigger mess because the other end came loose from the cardboard part of the spool insert and now both ends are unsecured. I simply put the parts of the spool into the middle of the bundle/ball of filament and put them in a storage bag to prevent any further chaos. It was a brand new spool of PLA Basic and now the failed print is the least of my problems. Things I know and questions I have: I messed up, but what could I have done considering the filament had spread out on the spool that had separated?-besides keeping a grip on the tag end…point noted, I am going to have to completely unwind this bird’s nest I have and respool it onto a new spool, but what’s the best way to do this, or is there even such a thing? I feel like I broke a nice part of my favorite new toy. 
I realize that the spool coming apart wasn’t my fault(Though I’ll always make sure they’re snug going forward, new or not). The rest of what happened after I let go of the tag end I take full responsibility for. I really could use a little advice and perhaps some encouragement at this point. I’m not a wealthy man and don’t want to give up on this bundle of filament. Luckily, I am a patient one if someone could just point me in the right direction. Thanks for any help anyone can provide.
