I am opening the closed beta for Filament Inventory Manager (FIM) and I am looking for early users who run real print workflows and can give direct, practical feedback.
Quick context: I know people are tired of low-effort “AI app” launches. Fair criticism. I am building Filament Inventory Manager (FIM) from real workflow pain in my own print operation, and this beta is about proving usefulness, not hype. So judge how you will, but I have a proven 10 year record in development, product ownership and marketing to back my project and promise that FIM is not another AI slop vibe-coded app.
I started building Filament Inventory Manager (FIM) because I kept running into the same issues while managing print work: material visibility was scattered, planning was fragmented, and it was too easy to lose track of what was actually moving through production. Yes, I know there are tools out there for this, but none of them felt like the right solution and I know FIM has some differentiators.
The goal with Filament Inventory Manager (FIM) is to make day-to-day workflow management more reliable by helping with:
- Filament and material tracking
- Project and job organization
- Management of supplies and materials inventory
- Day-to-day production planning visibility
- Fewer surprises or failed prints because you forgot you were out of that filament
What I am hoping to learn from beta users:
- Where the workflow feels smooth vs. where it slows you down
- Which actions are unclear or take too many steps
- What data and views are most useful when you are planning or executing jobs
- What features should be prioritized next based on real usage
Where it is still early today:
- Automation workflows to speed up filament usage tracking
- Some screens are functional but not yet providing the full experience I have planned
- UI elements are in a rudimentary state and need refinement and redesigns
