Filament jam sensing

Over the past 6 months I’ve had 3 filament jams due to reel loaded filament crossing over outgoing filament and jamming. Isn’t P1S supposed to sense a non-feed situation? In all cases the printing went on as if filament was feeding.and the nozzle ended up well in the air over the printing object.

Is that with the AMS1?

I have found 2 mods quite important to help with that:

  • Centre spool dessiccant holders to add a little spool weight
  • AMS savers (long PTFE neck variants) to get more even winding & unwinding
