Using LCD display to LOAD new filament, i have to RETRY 3 times before i see new color filament come out.
This is a firmware issue.
Extrusion is not fast enough, its painfully slow and its not long enough. It needs to be 3 times longer.
In all honesty, this statement make zero sense. What may I ask constitutes “fast enough” for you? As the current record-holder of speed for FDM printers, can you cite an example of what would extrude the “same” amount of filament faster?

Have you considered the possibility that you may be doing it incorrectly?
I’m not trying to be a jerk, but your post comes across as if there is a problem with the printer before you indicated you attempted any troubleshooting on your own.
The manual feed can be finicky indeed. This is especially true if one does not apply enough pressure in the filament PTFE tube. My technique for remedying this is to actually hold the filament and apply pressure during the initial feed. This does two things: first, you’ll feel it when the extruder engages the filament and starts pulling, and second, it confirms that the filament is engaged with the extruder.
i am not doing manual feed, i am simply following the prompt on the LCD display.
What i see is: extrusion too slow and not enough so i have to press RETRY 3 times before the next filament comes out.
This is consistent no matter what i do, force filament into the tube or not.
And at this point forcing it into the tube will not help as the gear already grabbed the filament and you wont be able to overcome the friction anyway so why bother.
It prints everything no problems so there is no problem with filament or the gears or what ever, its just feed rate is too slow and not enough at the LOAD function.
OK. I’m not understanding this. When you say “too slow” is that your observation or is this a message you are seeing on the display. Can you show a picture of this? If it is your observation, then again, what criteria are you using to establish that it is “too slow”?
And last but not least, are you using an AMS or single spool feed?
I think what the OP is trying to say is that pressing the “Load” button should trigger more filament to extrude per press so they don’t have to press it 3 times.
Too slow means extrusion is very slow.
Not sure how else i can describe this.
I also said feedrate is too slow, which is same thing.
Yes, i have to push RETRY 3 times until i start to see new filament making its way out.
I do not recall this problem when i originally received the printer. This problem manifested it self after firmware update.
That makes more sense. Hopefully this is what they meant.
I think bambulab has cutback on the purge cycle time in firmware updates. Because so many owners were complaining about the wasted filament from purge.
Some users don’t want any purge just blow and go with what they got.
I dont have a solution tho. Sorry.
Even then i could be wrong.
This is why it should have been open source so users could modify it as needed.
3D printed is fundamentally CUSTOM even if hardware is designed very specifically.
Everyone makes modifications to their BambuLab printers no matter who that is.
There is always something people dont like that others do so instead of hard coding something, they should at the very least give an option to change it per user.
At the very best, software build on open source should stay open source.
It’s all well and good to acknowledge the versatility of open source firmware. There are plenty of other printer manufactures on the market that have open source firmware that you can modify as much as you want. So why did you buy a Bambu printer knowing that it has closed source firmware? Seems like you decided that open source firmware wasn’t something all that important after all?
This topic wont go anywhere.
One half complain about too much purge, another not enough.
Cannot please both so solution is “let user chose” is not possible or they wont do it.
Totally agree on that point. This is at the heart of Bambu’s stated mission. Their CEO continues to draw comparisons to Apple and Apple’s walled garden. While that may be OK for some, if you’re going to make a garden, then put flowers in it, not the weed city that is currently Bambu’s idea of a walled garden.
I’ll use Spaghetti monster’s own blog entry on this topic of open vs closed source.
What he said was this:
So on one hand, they acknowledge the “spirit” of their customers but on the other hand, I interpret this blog as, “that’s just the way it is, take it or leave it. Case Closed!!”
This is one of the big reasons I am rooting for Team Orange. Someone needs to teach Team Green that there are options and customer loyalty is earned, not granted.
What is so shortsighted about this is that 3D printing is tailor made for the do-it-yourselfer. We by nature who like to make things do so because “things” aren’t exactly as we need or want them.
So to you’re point, why are they fighting their community and risking customer loyalty? It’s baffling. That is unless… they have a more nefarious agenda. But then again, we wouldn’t know because of the secretive nature of their inner workings.
