Filament Manager Instructions

The latest release version has the Filament Manager Tab. I know this was in the Beta versions. However there isn’t much info on how to use it. I was hoping I could add new filaments here but it appears I need to at least have added them via the calibration process.
Can anyone point me to a good tutorial or instructions on this tab?

Every time a spool is read, it seems to update the Filament Manager in Handy, I expect it should work the same for Bambu Studio.

That is great except I don’t use Bambu filament.

Glad to know I’m not the only one. I spent a few hours manually adding all of my third party filament into Bambu Studio expecting it to be able to track it. Except it doesn’t seem like there is any way in the software to actually pick what spool you’re using when you go to print. Like what’s the point?

If Bambu sold RFID tags separately for third party filaments that’s one thing, but to roll out this feature with absolutely no info anywhere on how it works or how to use it besides a quick blurb in the release notes is super frustrating. Why is it not in the Wiki at least?

I mostly use BL filaments, it thinks I have far more on the go than I actually do.

The idea was good, but as usual, the implementation falls far short.

Bambu Lab is trying to make it even more convenient for people to used their overpriced filaments. It would be surprising if they even mentioned anything about third-party filaments that was positive.

You’re not in the minority for using third-party filaments. I have never used a single spool of Bambu filament in my entire life.

If you buy 10 spools of PLA, ABS and PETG it costs 11,50 Euro/Spool.

I think it’s a great deal.
