Bambu has just announced their new price drop! But is it really lower? If you notice at the bulk sale, the price is almost the same, if not higher. While yes, they lowered the price on the filament, they also lowered the percentage of discount. It is now only a 5% discount for 4 rolls, and 10% for 6 if I’m correct. It used to be 25% off for 4 rolls, 6 rolls were 40% off. These may not be the exact correct numbers but they are somewhere around there. So yes, if you are buying it one roll at a time, it may be a dollar cheaper, or a dollar more expensive (depends on filmanet). So this begs the question, are you really saving any money with the new update?
Looked up a bit, seems that in the US it went down by almost nothing. Something like couple cents off per spool. I haven’t ordered BL’s PLA or PETG in eternities, so I have no idea.
I think it’s US region. Because I also remember vaguely numbers like, 25 and 40% off, but I may be totally wrong. Unfortunately, BL appears to be off wayback machine to check on what it was before.
The entire Bambu system is blocking Wayback Machine - everything. I could get upset about this every time Bambu deletes important wiki entries and doesn’t provide a replacement. But that would be too off-topic right now - though yes, everything is blocked by them.
I noticed the first thing in the email is that bulk princing now starts at 2 rolls. As far as I can remember, the bulk pricing has always been starting at 4 rolls prior to this. If one really wants to buy a large quantity, wait for the Black Friday sale can be a better choice.
US prices are down aprox. $0.40–$0.50 compared to the old pricing across the board. I typically buy in bulk during the big sales when costs are closer to $11/kg. Maybe they will be even better during the next sale. The lower cost per order with free shipping might get me to buy a little more often. Smaller price gap and i’m lazy I like the RFID tags…
What I don’t understand is why direct-from-manufacturer orders cost more than buying on Amazon or similar. I buy quite a bit of Sunlu and some Polymaker, and it is rarely cheaper on their websites except during big sales or bulk buys. It never makes sense to me.
Yes the US did not get a price drop unfortunately after digging around and asking some inside sources. Other countries such as Australia, EU, and South America will notice a small drop in price. But it’s they really over exaggerate the price drop. It’s not as much as it seems
