I’m trying to develop some fixtures that will be used to secure parts in a drag polisher.
Pretty much the exact setup shown here:
These fixtures are roughly 3"x3"x3". I’ve only been able to successfully print these fixtures (using PA and PA6-CF) in an orientation that puts the stresses along the Z seams (any material suitable for this that I can use support material that will detach easily so I can change the layer direction?) . I’ve purchased PC, ASA, and ABS and am waiting for those in the meantime. I just wanted to reach out here for material recommendations or tips.
With PA and PA6-CF I’ve printed with ~3 walls, 20% infill. Should I be attempting to print these with 100% infill? From what I’ve read in the past doing this has diminishing returns. I do need a little flex to these fixtures, since that is one of the features that allows easy installation/removal of the parts. Is there any material/parameters that exist that the H2D can print that can withstand this type of stress? Any more information needed I’ll respond ASAP. Thank you.
