Question is for the P1S…. How come when Feeding a new reel of filament after hitting “LOAD” and it sometimes doesn’t load so I hit the “RETRY” and it does nothing now. It doesn’t do anything on any of my P1S’s Why is “RETRY” not working anymore??
I think you’re talking about the “is filament coming out of the nozzle” screen - it takes time for filament to fill the nozzle melt zone to the point where it will begin to extrude. I typically hit retry a couple times on my X1C.
Yes I used to do the same. But its not from that screen. This is the very first screen you see when you “LOAD” a roll of filament for the first time or changing a roll. I would hit the RETRY a few times to make sure the previous color was out of the extruder. But now nothing happens. You try and push the button to “RETRY” Nothing!! The reel doesn’t move at all. So Now I have to keep pushing the button for “LOAD”, thats the only way the filament moves and you see the reel move. And as I said, this is on all my P1S’s not just one of them.
Have you tried doing this with the front cover off the extruder to see what’s actually happening?
Sounds like a potential issue with you filament feed gear - either worn down, covered in debris, or a bearing is going on the idler - all of those would make filament loading more tricky.
Also, check your entire PTFE pathway, work tubing leads to more drag and can make loading filament more challenging.
I always wondered if they mean filament in general (indicating that the new filament has been grabbed by the extruder, ready to push out the old filament)
Or if the new filament is coming out of the nozzle
The latter makes less sense since it still purges a lot?
There are all brand new Bambu hardened steel gears and bearings I just put is all the printers a few weeks ago when I bought diamond nozzles for all the printers. But this was doing this even before I did that. It seemed to have stopped working after so many firmware updates. So I even tried this morning by doing a factory reset and tried every new firmware…… and still nothing. The “Retry” button/command just doesn’t work anymore.
What do you see with the extruder cover off? Is the extruder gear even turning?
everything looks fine. Nothing is jammed or stuck in the PTFE tube. When I first LOAD the new filament I hold it and give a little push to get it started. Then once it grabs and starts loading I can go to the control screen and hit the extruder down arrow and the filament starts flowing out just fine. There’s nothing wrong or blocked with the extruder or nozzle. Its the “RETRY” command will not work anymore.
P.S. When I hit “RETRY” the gear does NOT move.
