In replacing the filament sensor, I can’t fully lock the PTFE back in place. It won’t get past the bracket. and no filament is feeding through.
Is there as way to widen the bracket so the tube fits and locks in?
If the PTFE won’t lock in something’s not right. Will the bracket it goes in move up and down if you push it down?
It will not move up and down.
Take it back off and see if it moves up and down while it’s off the printer.
I can’t get it back out now. It is in there too tightly.
Something is definitely wrong. After you take the two small screws out it should come out easily. You could take the whole extruder off to make it easier to work on.
What caused a need to replace the filament sensor?
You might try lightly loosening the guide just above the sensor assembly?
Are you using the original tubing? Maybe trim off about .5" off end of tubing. The tubing can get chafed where it “locks” into the fitting. You can often see or feel that damage and it can be removed with little to no impact as it is right at the end.
I had something similar when the ptfe coupler of the Filament sensor gave up. In the short term, there’s another one on the inside of the print chamber at the other end of the PTFE.
Mid-term, you may want to get Bambu Shop PTFE couplers from which you can break out 6 of them.
yes, using original tubing. when taking the tubing out, it says push the PTFE connector towards the left side of the extruder to loosen it.
Is that do-able when putting the sensor unit bask in? Didn’t seem so.

The filament sensor itself is on the left side of the extruder body as in Step 2 Disconnect. there are two 1.5mm screws on left side that hold sensor. The 1.5mm screws facing the camera hold the filament tubing lock in place on the extruder.
