The settings on printer are mostly for the loading or unloading processes. But at least while printing the settings from the slicer, which are embedded within the gcode and send to the printer, are the used ones. The material and color selection on the printer are mainly used to make it possible to match automatically the filament from the slicer with the right AMS slot.
