I’m trying to use Ziro PLA silk on a 2 month old AMS 2 PRO and each time while changing colors, it stops loading at the internal hub. I don’t want to change the hub after only two months and I’ve read through some of the posts here, but I haven’t found any with this particular problem. It usually happens in the third slot but sometimes in the 4th. I almost forgot to mention that when I push the button on the hub, the filament slides through. Any ideas?
This is one of the first hits on Google and I just had the same problem today. I disassembled the AMS2 Pro, took the internal filament hub out, and blew it out with compressed air while clicking the black button on top. A ton of filament dust came out and when I put it back together it worked fine.
It’s not happening too frequently these days but you gave me an idea - how about blowing air through the PTFE tubes rather than disassembling?
The PTFE tubes are a pain to get in/out of the feeders and I’d be wary of blowing it up into there, but if you can get compressed air into the hub by removing the tubes at the hub it might be worth a shot. Just make sure you take the tube out of the back of the AMS so it doesn’t shoot down into the extruder.
Oh, yeah! Definitely file that under “don’t let this happen to you!”
