Filament stuck between buffer and print head

See red pointer in the image above.

I have tried wiggling and pushing other filament into the buffer to no avail.

Buffer moves freely, but I cannot remove PTFE tube from buffer.

What is a safe way to remove the stuck filament and/or remove the PTFE tube?

Looks like a H2S. He won’t be able to print the tool. :frowning:

Disconnect the PTFE at the printhead end, and push filament in from that direction to see if the stuck piece will move, maybe…

I might be missing something here but why can’t you remove the ptfe from the buffer? I do it regularly to print tpu from the external port by disconnecting that part.

Squeeze buffer so that it exposes the push fitting, push it in and pull out the ptfe tube works for me. Sorry if I’m missing something and you can’t physically do it because it’s stuck in there or whatever.

Sometimes you have to first push the ptfe tube in while holding down the release and then pull. To get the metal teeth to release the tube.

I disassembled the buffer and pushed out the jammed filament.

Now I still cannot remove the PTFE tube. Tried twisting, pulling, pushing, lubricants and all I achieved is the start of a crack in the yellow housing as shown by the red pointer in the image.

Also tried holding back the black bushing and pulling the tube, but no go…

Also tried twisting the black bushing relative to the silver ferrule/cylinder, but no go…

Does anyone have images or cross sections of the tubing connector?

Problem solved. My guess is that my lubricant eventually dissolved the red gunk as shown in the blurry image above. I have never had to remove the tubing before, so I don’t have any idea what the red gunk is.

Adhesive of some sort, my guess. Why would it be there? Only reason I can think of, to keep the PTFE tube from escaping on its own…

Be interesting to see if a new PTFE tube will stay in the buffer connector or not.
