I’m at my wits end here. Originally I had two AMS 2 Pro’s connected to 4-1 PTFE adapter, and it was tearing up my filament. I talked to support and nothing really came of it. I did all the troubleshooting I could find anywhere, took apart the AMS’, swapped out the 4-1’s twice, and still the same thing. Finally I gave up on it and just did two AMS, one connected to each nozzle.
Now that the track switch came out, I purchased it, did the beta, hooked everything up, and it’s now chewing up the filament as well. I’ve done everything, changed PTFE tubes, changed lengths, locations, printed all the stuff Bambu said to print for the track switch.
I’ve done it all by the book, and it’s garbage. Now my prints are being effected and I’ve got filament dust everywhere that I have to keep cleaning out and taking the AMS’ apart. Am I alone here, or is this a thing? Any suggestions are much appreciated.
I’ve had zero problems with the filament track switch. The only thing I have probably done differently than you; I did not do it by the book. I left my PTFE tubes routing exactly like I had them prior to the track switch, I added the track switch just off to the side of the two inputs on the back and added two 4 in 1’s next to that. I did not print the model Bambu recommended or use the funny looking tubes you can print that attach to the AMS units for PTFE routing. I wanted some flex in the filament track switch, so I printed a model that lets it swivel off to the side.
I’ve had nothing but problems since trying add the filament track. First time, I had the filament track at the end of the power chain after 3 AMS 2 and AMS HT, kept getting binding error. Re-did the setup and then got filament mismatch pfte tube. I removed the track, power cycled, reverted firmware, could never get past the mismatch error. I have a case open with Bambu and even went so far as to revert to factory default. Could get the auto detech on one ams to complete, gave me an error incorrect connection order of ptfe. The connections were setup correctly, I had the one ams set to go to right side. Even connected it to left side and still got the error to check tubes through the buffer. Waiting for response on my case, filament track has made this a single nozzle printer atm. Still working out what to setup for external holder for filament roll to at least have 2 colors.
I’m pretty sure the track switch has to be the first thing plugged into your printer before all AMS devices. That may be what caused your problems. Hopefully, you get it fixed quickly.
I corrected that and got past the bind issue, but kept running into pfte mismatch issue. Didnt matter what slot I used or what nozzle I sent the filament to, the filament would hit the correct nozzle and then pull back and switch to the incorrect one. Bambu wants a pick of the pfte tubes in the chamber and on the back. They think there might be an issue with the firmware. So we will see when I get those sent later today.
