Does anyone know if the track switch can have both tracks loaded at the same time or can it only load one at a time? Also is it possible to run multiple units on one printer?
Not sure about the first question although from the animation and filament hub’s to date, I’d guess it needs to clear the filament from the switch.
Regarding the second question, I’d expect a combo with one (or more) 4-in-1’s to be sufficient.

I think “yes” to both questions.
The animations on the product page clearly show both tracks used at the same time, either both lines go straight through or they are switched inside. Only one track active at a time would destroy the point of a dual nozzle printer in my opinion.
And for the second question, the wiki page explicitly mentions that with and without the switch, the same amount of AMS unit can be used that the printer itself allows. You can add 4-in-1 adapters in front of the switch to connect more than one AMS tovone input.
What animations show this? The only ones I see at Filament Track Switch | Bambu Lab Store are these:
I watched the whole of both animations, and the filaments never cross or go past the “flippers“ simultaneously. Did I misunderstand you (did you mean whether they were in the module at all), or did I miss something about the animations?
So, Im a bit confused, the image above shows 2 inlets and 2 outlets, looking at the actual switch at the link , it looks like 2 on one end and 1 on the other?

Yeah idk why they designed it so the tubes are twisted. I guess they don’t fit so they made one pair horizontal and the other vertical? Edit: Thanks CarbonForge for explaining. That’s smart!
Because from a horizontal - vertical arrangement, the filament path will only ever change +/- 90 degrees, whereas if it were horizontal horizontal or vertical vertical it would be a full 180 degree rotation for the filament path.
I know the filament track switch will work with the h series later this year. But will it be the same switch with different software & mounting bracket or a different switch altogether. Any one know ??
like the idea but there needs to be a 4 into 2 version i have 4 ams pro 2 i have a manual version of this that i found on makerworld works nice but the on the fly switching would be amazing.

That would be a big drawback of using the switch. I thought, the 90° rotated output would be there exactly to allow both filaments loaded without hitting into each other and read this into the animation although it isn’t there. Sorry again for the wrong information. I still hope, it is possible.
It will be the same switch. Bambu’s overall AMS architecture is consistent across their printers, in this case it’s a matter of firmware for the printers and slicer updates.
When I had my X1C I had a pair of AMS units to the right of the printer, and when I replaced that with the H2C with 2 AMS 2 Pro and 2 AMT HT the layout of the inlets made me reorganize with the units to the left of the machine. What I noticed from the video for the track switch is that it seems to push the layout back to the AMS units on the right.
Biggest issue is the length restrictions of 700mm (27.5”) AMS to the switch module because of resistance of the PTFE tubes. With all the failure to load issues already because of the PTFE tubes resistance before the switch was introduced, I can see the switch opening a Pandora box of problems. Already the H2C 4:1 adapter can’t be used probably because of resistance. Hoping for a possible design changes as we wait for H2D and H2C variations.
I think fail to load will be more frequent for sure. Even the wiki is recommending against the use of any 4-in-1 adapter! I can understand if you only have 2 AMSs to use the 2 inputs but for more than 2 the adapter will be required and the wiki does not seem very confident it will work without issue.

Using the 4-in-1 PTFE adapter with just two AMS units is strongly discouraged; the extra resistance during loading and unloading can compromise print reliability.
something interesting from the wiki page. if you pay attention you can see a switch from left to right but the blue filament never crosses right to left.
also I don’t get it. They say dynamic mapping makes switches easier and faster. But in the top example with grey and green, you still have 2 filaments in the same AMS 1 therefore both filaments cannot be loaded at the same time even if you have dynamic track switch. there’s only one PTFE coming out of the AMS1 and therefore you have to switch filament in each layer. yes you don’t waste time purging etc but it’s half-baked IMO.
Unless that restriction is lifted I don’t see how you can usefully use this with an H2C which requires 2 AMS units attached to the right nozzle just to take advantage of all the nozzles.
I think there’s an inherent limitation with the AMS architecture. unless you make AMS feed individual filaments, and have a … 16-track switch? I don’t see how they can solve the problem. The limitation is quite real…
These are my thoughts on it. Seems pretty pointless for H series printers
After having over 3000 hours on some of those 4 to 1 adapters the things still snag filament. You would think they wear in or something but my word do they just not play nice with gen 1 ams units.
