Filament with specified Thermal insulation values in W/m2K

Do you already know a filament manufacturer that records this in the data sheet?

Of course, what the filament and what the final component (final print) has are ultimately different since the print will have a internal structure with air in. But that I !may! can probably argumented away because non moving air is always a good isolator.

Yes, there are already manufacturers for but the evidence usually shows that there material can conduct heat (e.g. with 4 W/m2K the Ice9TM Rigid of TCPoly) and not how insulating there material is.

I’m more interested in thermal insulation values and a value of less than γ 0.3 W/m2K or at least less than 0.6Wm2K. Maybe even with TPU, as it can be easily placed around valves, pumps, etc.

That would also be the point where I would start dealing with 3D scanners, where wall distances would be a bit of a challenge, but the back part mostenly can be redrawed quickly.

This will be such an interesting use case for me, especially since the regulations continue to develop. i.e. in energy saving measures. Ok, there are also specialist companies, but when it comes to displays and more complicated shapes it always becomes a bit more demanding and you have to chase after each manufacturer of the parts individually - that takes more time than just scan and print…

I fail to see the pint, sorry.
3D printed means thermal insulation values are VERY relative and knowing them is pretty much useless.
Look up ABS, PLA, PETG, NYLON and what else you want to use.
If you need good insulation values use insulating material - you can print insulation - certainly not if you want to insulate against heat.
Your post looks more like a collection of cases with so really no relation to 3D printing…

Yea, looks like AI wrote it. Doesn’t make much sense.

I really don’t know much about the subject, but it doesn’t cost anything to ask.

The fact that the topic is useless is a tiresome topic anyway. All the isolation stories are going sometimes in the wrong direction anyway. So useless values on a paper are also good for useless people - Nobody have to get it…Not even me. Get instructions on paper, solve them just on paper as cheap as ever possible and everyone is happy… I’m not talking about simple tubes here, but rather things where someone tinkers around for 2-3 hours so that the isolation is there and then doesn’t actually achieve anything.

They note something in there specs which may fits:

And I also see some spects of BASF TPU in German but not in the Englisch documents - well, we will see and may I`m in a hurry.

@binfordw
I actually like to ask stupid questions, so I’ll find sometimes something. user_3026326371 answer helped. Your Anwers unfortunately didn`t. I know that a lot of money is paid for nothing, especially when it comes to isolation an specaly in Europ. And that some people will fight for there mony for nothing, thats for sure.

Yea, didn’t say it was stupid, said it made no sense.

Ah ok, to the question of whether it makes sense, I actually agree with you.

Hey @Hank, does “einherz” mean anything to you?

@MZip

Offtopic and after this I stop:

Let me guess, a deposit of 100 euros every year?

May watch “modern slavery” on Netflix, remember that it seems 1000 times harder to get in life and then we sit in a lecture room and talk about how evil the world is and nothing ever will change.

Why do I now know that most people in a real slum will vomit within the first 10m. Better to bring they into a restricted zone, which they still can handle.

Do I think that’s good, no. Do I have to deal with it, yes. You can’t ignore it as long as you’re human, but it quickly exceeds your abilities and if you look deep enough, you will also see the powerlessness of aid organizations too and with this you also have to deal with.

So it’s not a question of how many you can feed - Some even do it just to make themselves feel better which is also ok as long they help. It`s more the question how many you get there so that they can get the next ones tho feed someone - and this is not often done with love and harmonie only.

But you know that. Write to stay - that’s exactly where it starts and “write to stay” we already had that topic… so no reason to start with again.

Um, ok. I was just checking to see if I might know you from somewhere else but I don’t think so or maybe you would have responded differently.

Regards.
