File Preview Image disappears after printing

Using the SD card in my new A1. Printed a clip, a scraper, and a few of the Sample Color Tile holders. After I print a file, the preview image disappears. The file can still be printed but the preview image of the object is no longer there, even after ejecting/reinserting the card.

Attached picture shows 3 files I printed missing the image, with a file I have not printed and the image remains. Any ideas on how to fix?

Hi all,

After upgrading to a new SD card for my Bambu A1, I noticed that the thumbnail previews were no longer displaying on the printer’s screen. Following some investigation, I discovered the issue and thought it would be helpful to share the solution with the community.

First, rest assured—this isn’t caused by a virus or a corrupt SD card. The problem lies in the formatting and folder structure of the new SD card. Here’s the step-by-step process I used to resolve it:
1. Formatting the SD Card: Many SD cards over 32GB default to NTFS or exFAT formatting on a Windows system. However, the Bambu A1 requires the card to be formatted as FAT32. To ensure compatibility, I inserted the new SD card into the printer and used the printer’s formatting option. This step created a FAT32 file system, as required.
2. Restoring the Folder Structure: After formatting, I noticed the new SD card was completely empty. Comparing it with the original SD card, I observed that the printer relies on a specific folder structure (e.g., cache, record, timelapse) to display thumbnail previews. Simply copying the folder structure from the original SD card to the new one resolved the issue.
3. Testing: Once the folder structure was restored, I inserted the new SD card back into the printer and sent a few prints. The thumbnails displayed correctly, confirming that the issue was resolved.

In summary, when replacing an SD card for the Bambu A1:
• Format the card as FAT32 using the printer’s formatting option.
• Copy the folder structure from the original SD card to the new one, ensuring key folders like cache are included.
