I’m posting because I’m pretty frustrated with how MakerWorld is handling the Exclusive program lately. Multiple models of mine were recently removed from Exclusive without warning — including my A1 Mini Dust Cover, which had been live and available for quite some time with no issues.
The explanation I got was that the models were considered too “simple” or “planar,” and supposedly don’t meet the structural standards for Exclusive. But that’s not accurate — the A1 Mini Dust Cover, for example, is a functional print with sides, screw holes, and real utility. It’s not just a flat badge or 2D object. These are actual, usable designs I put time into creating.
They also mentioned the removals were due to “several reports,” which makes me wonder if people are abusing the report system to get other creators’ work taken down — or if an algorithm is flagging files unfairly. Either way, it feels like there’s no transparency, and creators are being penalized without a chance to respond or improve.
I’ve supported MakerWorld from the beginning and always posted original work. But after this experience, I’ll be uploading more of my models to other platforms like Cults3D where things seem to be handled more fairly.
Is anyone else having their Exclusive files removed suddenly? This feels like something we should be talking about.
Functional doesn’t mean complex, from looking at the photo you posted the model is fairly simple from a modelling point of view, the same would apply to brackets and most sort of hooks for things, yes they serve a purpose but i get where they are coming from in that regards
Sure it sucks when it happens and i know i have a model which is borderline, but it also only has like 7 downloads and solves an extremely niche issue so its probably just being ignored because it hasn’t earned anything lol
I still don’t see anywhere that says “functional doesn’t mean complex” as part of the Exclusive rules.
The actual wording is:
“Models that are flat/plane/2D, or those which aren't structurally sophisticated, are ineligible.”
My model isn’t flat — it has walls, vent holes, and was specifically designed to solve a real problem with Bambu printers. It’s frustrating to put effort into useful designs to help the community, only to have them removed without a clear or fair explanation. If there’s a new standard for what counts as “structurally sophisticated,” it needs to be communicated more clearly — and enforced consistently.

After careful review, we have decided to remove it from the program.— so it was reported by other users for quality concerns? anyone want to just pull the entire account from makerworld. i have 7k downloads but i might be done at this point.
Because its not written there, its just common sense mostly, just because something has a function that doesn’t mean its a complex model, just look at a doorstop wedge, a corner bracket, a simple pole hook, these are functional models but they are not by any stretch complex
As you pointed out in the wording
Something which is a couple of extrudes and a pattern extrude isn’t really going to count as structurally sophisticated, that isn’t to say its a bad model or that it doesn’t serve its purpose, it just means that its a fairly simple design, which again, doesn’t mean its bad, just that it doesn’t meet the requirements for being something bambu would want to use as a showcase to draw people to the platform
