Can we get a filter to get rid of all the AI slop that people keep posting?
Makerworld likes AI slop.
Look at this link and ask yourself what makerworld thinks of AI
Handy app>Me>Settings>Model preferences>Blocked Categories>Generative 3D Model.
Makerworld>Hover Over Profile Icon>Account Settings>Preferences>Blocked Categories>Generative 3D Model
You can also do this with tags and designers
I suppose this does rely on the designers actually categorizing the models as generative 3D models though.
Not all AI is slop and not all slop is AI.
I could be wrong, but I think that only filters out content created via the MakerLab website and was then uploaded directly to MakerWorld. I checked the tags:
- Hueforge & Lithophane
- Make My Sign
- Make My Vase
- Pixel Puzzle Maker
- Relief Sculpture Maker
- AI Scanner
- Image to Keychain
- Make My Desk Organizer
- PrintMon Maker
- Statue Maker
- Christmas Ornament Maker
- Make My Lantern
When blocking tags, you can type in whatever you want and if the uploader used that tag, it’ll be blocked.
Yes! Mabye it wouldbe a cool Feature if you have to click a “Button” when you upload a model, wich was made with AI. Then you could Filter the models after AI and not-AI
I know there is pretty good AI stuff out there and I don’t mind that. I’m talking more about crap like this:
Image that suggests a printed object
which in the 3D preview turns up like this:
Why not use Makerworld’s own AI to see that this is just click bait or at least let us flag the uploader so this stuff can be removed or filtered
She ages like sour wine, I guess
mmh…
nice model… ??
it looks like… hmm… scaled down… but only in the z axe… and the fingers…?? : )
i like it..
we absolutely need a toggle to turn off ai models.
It already exists, but it doesn’t work that well…
The problem isn’t that it isn’t already possible; the problem is that AI designers would have to tag their works correctly. It’s the tagging that’s the problem, not the filter.
A lot of people just aren’t that honest and don’t tag it.
