So… firmware 01.10.00.00 — the final release, right?
Well, turns out it includes a returning classic: a lovely little bug that can happily ruin your nozzle and/or chew up your build plate like it’s part of the print job.
But no worries! According to Bambu Lab, this isn’t a bug — it’s a feature. Possibly a brilliant upsell tactic to move more nozzles and plates? Hard to tell.
Luckily, my CFX plate is tough enough to take the abuse, but the filament loading routine left some charming scuff marks anyway.
A quick IPA wipe and all damage was gone — this time.
Which bug are you referring to? I’ve been running this firmware for a couple days now and haven’t had any build plate scraping.
I doubt it’s the final one though. There’s still an AMS-HT bug they need to fix. Can’t do the auto flow rate calibration when using an ams-ht. They were supposed to fix it in this version but must have missed the mark.
There’s always something to fix, but perhaps reintroducing old bugs as a “new feature” isn’t the kind of surprise we’re hoping for.
In this case, I had intentionally left the heatbed at its mechanical upper limit after cleaning the chamber. When starting the loading sequence, the platform didn’t lower to a safe position beforehand — which, as confirmed, happens in the current release (not the previous beta).
Interestingly, if you manually lower the plate just slightly before initiating the load, the system does lower it safely. So there seems to be a very specific sweet spot where the printer thinks, “Nah, I’ll wait until after the loading to move that bed. What could possibly go wrong?
A1 does similar things with unsafe moves before homing. If the gantry is too far up the z screw, like after finishing a max height print or just maintaining it , it will attempt to z up before home, and slam into the metal stops repeatedly until you cut power. Just Bambu doing Bambu things lol

In my case, it was homed before moving the platform to its upper position, but the printer still managed to forget where it was — like it had a sudden blackout and decided to punish the build plate for it
