Finally got my P1S in place and running. I have the AMS on the flipper hinge with an inspection hatch on the underside for easier removal of issues.

The laser in the large enclosure is a Gweike G2 Max with extraction through a Laserpecker air purifier. Your setup sounds nice!
I do have a 3d scanner though and a vacuum former. I’d like a UV laser, but I don’t really need one. Plus I don’t have the space.
CNC is relatively new for me, I’m still learning.
You’ll be fine, crashing small milling machine like this won’t be as catastrophic as big CNC milling machine. You’ll break a few bits, but that is basically nothing.

The Z1 looks nice, I almost wish I’d held off on the Air.
Until now, I only had the M1/M1 Ultra with 10 and 20 watts respectively and the F1 with 10W/2W infrared. But I’ve been waiting a long time for the UV laser, as it’s the Swiss Army knife of lasers And it’s particularly good at one thing – plastic! And as a Bambu user, I do a lot with that
Personally, I wasn’t considering a desktop CNC at those prices, but the Z1 simply appealed to me. Although with all the accessories, the price more than doubled

Yeh, I had an M1 for a while, and I still have my F1. I still entertain ideas of taking it to craft fairs.
The F1 is such a great laser. But as a private individual, three lasers were just a bit too much 
Within two weeks, I bought the H2C Ultimate, the F2 Ultra UV and the Makera Z1. That was almost 10k€ spent on gadgets, but by selling the F1, I was able to recoup a tenth of that

Oddly, I do next to no plastic. Mainly I laser slate, metal, and a little glass. The UV would be better for glass, but for the amount I do, I’ll just paint it first and stick with the F1 Ultra. Mostly I use the Ultra, but the Gweike is great for deep metal and slate work - when I need it.
That’s right, and the UV laser doesn’t damage the glass with heat like all the others do 
These are micro-cracks that appear to be ‘engraved’.
I’ve ordered 10x K9 crystals for inside-engraving, and I’m really excited to see how they turn out.
It’s just a great way to quickly enhance your 3D prints with the UV laser. It’s quick and looks really great.
Have you done much with the Caveira Air yet?

Yeh, that’s the biggest draw for me.
Still not getting one though lol. Can’t justify it. I’m okay with the glass ‘engraving’ I’m getting, and I’m experimenting with black engraving on glass at the moment too.

The Makera Z1 won’t be delivered until sometime in the first quarter…

Not really. I need time to wrap my head around it properly. I’ve done the sample projects and that’s about it so far. Most of my work is lasers, 3D printing is for fun mostly, and the CNC will be a nice addition to my work once I figure it out properly.

When you finally have a project that 3D printing is not a good choice for reason of accuracy, strength or material needed, then necessity will be the driving force for you learning the Carvera Air. Now to buy a 3D scanner though I have had zero luck with 3D scanners. I’m waiting for my Makera Z1 which maybe be delivered by May or June. I had an interesting conversation of Chatgpt regarding what bits should I buy to have a good starting point. Here’s a 3D model for your bit storage case. Yeh, I have a 3d scanner and am slowly getting to grips with it. Still mostly laser and 3d printing workflow, though.
