Firmware version v01.01.04.00 is now available

We are happy to let everyone know that the new firmware for H2D is available:

New Features

  1. Added support for drying PLA material in AMS 2 Pro/AMS HT using default drying parameters without needing to unload.
  2. Added blade cutting offset calibration function, which can significantly improve the positional accuracy of the blade cutting module processing.

Feature Optimizations

  1. Optimized first layer printing quality.
  2. Optimized the purge bin jam detection function for better detection of jam.
  3. Optimized the issue of large capacity USB drive formatting occasionally failing.
  4. Optimized print quality with the 0.2mm nozzle.
  5. Optimized system stability.
  6. Optimized sound and light: the indicator lights will now turn off after printing is completed in energy-saving mode.
  7. Added a sound prompt to remind users to check-in promptly when the 40W laser process check-in timer is about to expire.
  8. Optimized the Print-then-Cut process to be compatible with more paper sizes.
  9. Improved the stability of Power Loss Recovery.
  10. Improved the stability of Liveview Camera Streaming.
  11. Optimized Adaptive Air Flow system control logic.
  12. Improved laser module calibration success rate.

Known Issues

  1. Filament PTFE tube detachment detection is temporarily disabled.

The option to update the firmware offline is also available here:

When does it roll out? No OTA for me yet. Still shows 1.1.2.8 as up to date.

Even after powering off?

yup, guess it goes out in waves?

You can still put in on your USB stick and upgrade offline if you want it NOW

No.

(Meanwhile it did ping an update, guess it does go out in waves, no restart needed)

I turned my printer on this morning and it updated immediately. One odd think I noticed, my AMS 2 and my AMS HT kept “power cycling” during the firmware update. Maybe that’s normal but I don’t recall seeing that behavior last time.

For me it wasnt just the AMS units (I have one 2pro, one V1) everything in the printer kept pinging, nozzle lights, chamber lights, motors, vents, all of them were seemingly randomly twitching every now and then, but it completed normally.
Calibration also finished normally.
Onwards to testing.

Yeah mine is doing the same thing

it is normal, rest with ease

May be the last time AMSs were not updating, this time, all firmwares, H2D, AMS, AMS2, AMS-HT get an upgrade

Both of mine didn’t have update available. I just powered them off for a few seconds and back on and both got the update.

This is a welcome news for folks who accidentally bought into China locked H2D. Finally I can update

AMS drying without removing filament is a blizz … Thank you BambuLab for that.

I’m sure there are good reasons but please allow drying while printing even if you need to include an “I told you so” confirmation dialog

Yea the funny thing is that even Bambu states you should print from a heated dry box when printing TPU but offers no products available that can do so.

The ams bites into the filament which can soften and bind; that’s a distinct difference from printing (yanking) from a dryer.

@SupportAssistant, I’m curious… on the quoted statement above, I was curious if there is any reason why the AMS HT doesn’t allow me to start a PLA preset cycle with 68D TPU filament loaded? I did notice when I told it there was PLA in the slot it did start, but I would assume 68D TPU at PLA drying temps should be OK since the preset for TPU is set for 75C ( I would assume PLA’s 45C preset should be ok to run without unloading).

Personally, I would think it make sense to completely remove the logic that stops 45C drying with filament loaded. I get keeping the logic in place for temps greater than 45C, but just don’t see why it matters below with this update.

P.S.

Thank the engineers for this update… I really hated opening and closing the units after drying was done only to re-introduce humid air in to the systems and watch the humidity climb right back up.

While TPU will NEVER soften to the point that the gears can mangle it, it WILL deform easier, and tpu is already a devil in disquise regarding tangles, and lets not put in the equation the difficulty of actually feeding tpu through the AMS already.
In pla though I can easily see it melting in the teeth.
But honestly, you guys are overreacting with the “quarantine the filament” thing.
It wont absorb so much moisture in couple of hours, heck pla wont deteriorate (in quality) for weeks. TPU for days, and dont try to argue on that, i go through 4-5 rolls of tpu per day, numerous brands and harnesses.
Some plastics need drying and are more prone to absorbing, yes, but thats nothing you cant counter with drying it first, then shoving in the ams and keeping it there.

Actually TPU can dry and print with the AMS-HT (or any filament for that matter not inserted in the feeder but exiting form the top cover (the TPU exit ;)). You just tell the printer that the TPU is on the external spool while in fact it is in the AMS-HT. You launch your drying cycle on the AMS-HT (no rotation) and you print with it from the fake external spool in bambu studio. I just would not recommend it, the problem is that TPU will expand with heat and will have issue sliding in the PTFE tubing and force the extruder. If you really want to heat it keep at warm temperature only.

You know what, ill let you do it your way.
Everything is opposite to what is actually needed for TPU, but sure, have it your way.
