I have about 400 hours on my H2D without a single failure. At Christmas, I bought a P1S and P2S for the kids and myself. Well, I just had my first failure, resulting in a blob. The P2S started a print, and I put in the Super Tack Cool Plate and immediately had issues with the printer recognizing it. The print on it isn’t even readable without getting the light just right. I told the printer to ignore this and proceed with printing some PETG. The first layer started off fine, but I left to eat dinner real quick and came back to a massive blob and a mess. I was surprised the software didn’t detect it and stop it. I started chipping away at the plastic, but wasn’t sure where to stop and didn’t want to damage anything. It has made several prints since, but has strings of the melted plastic all over, though they are getting better. Not sure what I should replace or try to fix or if I should just leave it as is as long as it isn’t hurting anything.
I just got a P2S and had a similar issue but luckily I was home to stop it before it got out of control. I was also surprised that the Ai didn’t stop the print as the object was unstuck from the build plate flying around stuck to the hot end. The Ai did stop an earlier print that had a minor error so I’m not sure why it didn’t stop this much more obvious problem.
This looks so much worse than anything ive had happen to mine sheesh
It only checks every few minutes with a picture, you might have pulled it off before it saw it

I chipped and pried off the pieces I could and then printed a bunch of stuff that wasn’t super critical. When the head got hot, there was lots of stringing from the remains melting. It was mostly cleaned up, and then finally I heated it up and pried off the nozzle and cleaned up some more. Working great after that and no ill effects. My H2D has never had anything like that happen. The few times there was an adhesion or other issue, it immediately recognized it and stopped.
