First issue with print quality

Hi all,

I have had my P2S for a few weeks now and I have been very impressed with the print quality. However, I have just printed the Chess Prestige board from MakerLab and I have an issue with one area (see photos). The back, right hand corner (furthest from the door on the right hand side) has a poor finish. The majority of the board has a really good finish but the back edge is very “liney” getting much worse to the right.

Can anyone suggest what might be going on here?

It is PLA and printed with default settings for the P2S.

Many thanks Peter

First thing I’d do is to check under the build plate to see if any material is stuck under there (happens a lot). Do a bed level from the printer. If that doesnt work (and I’ve had to do this on 2 of my 3 P2Ss, you might have to tweak the bed manually (but only if you feel comfortable, don’t do any more than a 1/4 turn at a time) in your case counter clockwise to raise the rear right corner slightly).

@broe01 Thanks for the response. So you would say it’s slightly low along the back edge and more so back right? I’ll do an automatic bed level. Is there a print I can do that would show this up early? The chess board is 13hours+ ! Not sure if I would spot the issue on the first layer, as I haven’t been watching or recording. Thanks again.

I don’t have a print, and this might not be the problem, I just had a similar issue. Check the first layer first before doing anything else to make sure that this could be it.

It it’s not a first layer issue, and only happens in one corner, might be a good idea to do maintenance on the X and Y rods (clean and re-oil).
