You can see in this picture that the first letters look really good, than the infill starts and the printer moves up the Z-Axis for the second layer BUT here is the problem, the printer starts to print the last letters from the Word and this creates a mess.
So basically said it prints only the half of the first layer and then shifts to the second layer and prints in the air…
Is there a way in Bambu Studio to solve this? Support does not help with that but maybe a setting is missing?
I think that my 3D Model has a Problem but I need that print for a Birthday next week…
Hm I don’t think this is the problem because in my case, the printer skipped a part of the first layer, starts with the next view layers and then wants to print the rest of the first layer which technically wont work.
You can see when it prints the first layer and after that the printer starts with the cleaning tower with the second layer and thied layer on the text, AFTER that it wants to print the rest of the first
It sounds like the sign is not perfectly flat or tilted in the slicer.
Check its bottom surface in the prepare tab from the bottom and use the “lay flat” tool. If there’s an issue either in the prepare or the preview tab, you could just scale the sign slightly in z and manually move the bottom below the build plate for a perfect 1st layer.
Here you can see the printed first layer, you are right that the sign is not flat. I have used the “Lay Flat” tool in Bambu Studio to lay the print on this surface. Is there a setting in Bambu Studio to fix this?
One trick to fix this is to add a cube object, stretch it flat, large and 1mm height, just like a thin sheet. Then substract your model with this ‘flat sheet’. Of course you can stretch the height of your model to compensate 1mm that you cut off.
Well, Studio is not CAD, so we are limited to workarounds like cutting off the bottom by lowering the model slightly below the build plate or using a Boolean subtraction with a cube.
If the height loss bothers you, you could duplicate the model, position them at exactly the same location, merge and then move one model upwards by the amount you need to cut for a flat bottom.
Dirty but quick
Quick Update: I printed it again but this time upwards that you can read the text on the build plate when you look into the front glass.
I printed it with support because the left side of the base plate of the modell is about 3mm lower than on the right side. The finished part stands a bit in an angle when you put it on a desk… But you can´t really see that, i am going to put this model on a wooden plate where I milled a groove with 2mm dept so I am happy that I have anything…
Thanks for your replys, i will try to cut 1mm off from the model in Bambu studio and report again!
Update: I used the “cutting tool” in Bambu Studio and cut off 1mm on the surface, after that, the first layer was perfect. Print worked out perfect and is ready for the Birthday present
