First layer has peaks and valleys

I have an X1C w the textured PEI plate. I washed it with dawn dish detergent and a scrubber. Dried it with a paper towel. Haven’t touched the plate with my hands, only the sides and edges. I’m printing w white PLA.

And my first layer looks like this:

I stopped it as it was laying down the second layer, which is why the upper right corner looks darker and more filled in.

I also increased the bed temperature from 50 to 65?

Why do you think this is happening?

Edit:: The file was bad. My pei plate is fine

So you’ve solved your issue I take it? I’m wondering if the LIDAR flagged your first layer as being defective. I’ve had screwed up first layers and even non-existent ones and the LIDAR thought all was OK.

Oddly enough, no, LIDAR didn’t flag the first layer. I was watching it and I myself flagged it lol

I did solve my issue. It was a MakerWorld file that I downloaded over 6 months ago and I’d reuse it and reuse it and I imagine it got funky. Because once I downloaded a new file from MakerWorld, everything was fine.

I have come across similar instances where what appears to be a bad print/file , printed perfectly after it was renamed and i redownloaded it from makerworld
