This morning I made a part without any errors, on the second piece, the nozzle ran into the tray halfway through the first layer…
calibration done, factory reset done, the head is clean-no damage, but the tray still polished it- there’s nothing under it, everything is fine, after every attempt the nozzle head still pulls the sheet. I absolutely don’t understand, I didn’t change any settings. Anyone have any ideas?
What are you calling the Tray and the Sheet? The textured gold part is the build plate

Build plate lays on top of heated bed.

The lines on the build plate on the upper left image, are those scratches in the build plate from the nozzle or is that residue?
On that upper left picture I can’t tell if that is where it was trying to lay down the first level and the nozzle was too close to build plate or was it touching and scratched build plate and what I’m looking at is a combination of scratches and filament pushed into the textured surface?
You didn’t happen to do a bed level calibration with the build plate off, caught it before printing, put build plate in position then hit print.
I have calibrated by accident with build plate removed but then had to recalibrate because if you don’t, the nozzle will be too close to plate when printing starts.
Have you done any mods to printer?
The nozzle is a Bambu Labs nozzle

Yes, the build plate, I didn’t do anything. The first part is finished, and with the second, boom. The scratches on a larger part were caused during the first layer. Yes, those scratches are all the nozzle, there is no material on it, it’s too close. No modding, everything is original. I’ve already tried calibration (10 times already), factory reset, another part, it doesn’t matter what I start. I don’t even understand how the nozzle can be lower ~ 1mm after leveling and calibration. I checked it, all the axles, screws are in place, nothing is hanging, everything is stable, clean. The machine is 2 months old. Yes, it’s about as if I had calibrated without the build plate and then quickly put it in, but no.
Do you have the correct build plate selected in Bambu Studio? Using the wrong plate in the slicer will give you the wrong Z-offset.
After a factory reset, I started the benchy directly from the machine, the same result. The build plate is correct, but something is wrong.
Sounds like the same issue I’ve reported to Bambu Lab multiple times. Support acknowledged the reproduction steps I provided but indicated they would not address it. Their guidance effectively required me to ruin a build plate and waste time and filament to prove the defect.
It’s disappointing to see this continue to surface. Open a support ticket and request a replacement build plate. I only run carbon-fiber (CFX) plates, which makes my own claims more complex, but if you’re confident this is a machine-induced fault—not a worn nozzle or another user-serviceable issue—you should pursue a warranty replacement.
What was your solution? The problem is that I put in another buildplate, but it will ruin it just like this one, I can also change the head, but it will still drag on… I made a report, I hope they deal with it normally.
The machine has run for about 50 hours, it is 2 months old. I checked everything is original, every screw.
Put in a ticket. If you are running any mods that might impact the electrical/electronics of the printer, ditch those parts.
If your printer ran fine when you first bought it and pulled it out of the box, think back to every single tweak you’ve done and undo each and every tweak.
These are machines that do what they are told to do. If it is a repeatable fault would lead me to think there is a programmatic fault.
If the machine does the same thing repeatedly, even if that thing is incorrect tells me it is a programmatic fault rather than a broken/loose/misaligned hardware issue. Broken/loose/misaligned hardware, which typically acts erraticly can clue you into whether the problem is in the program or in the hardware.
Maybe somethimg wrong in you Start G-code? Try to uninstall and re-install the Bambu Studio
