First stage feeder not pulling filament

After a few hours of usage , one of the first stage feeders does no longer pull the filament in. The filament is recognized when inserted, and the gear is audible But there is no force that pulls the filament into the feeder. The feeder is not clogged, because the filament can be inserted manually easily.

Any ideas?

Can you make a Video?

I had the same issue. The problem is that the gears of the feeders slip on the shaft because production managed to use thin oil/grease which creeped between shaft and gears.

How did I solve it?

  • Removed the gears from the shaft
  • Clean the oil/grease from the shaft and inside the gears
  • Put the gears back - glue them in place with CA

Thank you for your reply, as you can see on the video it seems to be another problem.

Do is see that right that your main gear has no more teeth?!

It looks like there is some yellow dirt on the feeder cover. Maybe the teeth are there but worn off!?

Somebody knows how to fix this problem?

Yes, it looks like the teeth are worn off. I ordered a replacement, after disassembly i will know more.

The tooth of the middle gear were broken in the middle.

Exactly this issue i got on many of the first stage feeder units!
