I can’t seem to find a response to this other than “uncheck the box” or “edit the gcode”. Unchecking the box has no effect, and nobody wants to elaborate on how to edit the gcode.
I’m tired of wasting time and filament calibrating the same filament before every print. Now that Orca doesn’t work, there seems to be no way to turn it off. Unchecking the box makes no difference. Anyone else had this problem?
Turning off Flow Dynamics Calibration at the start of each print does save time and eliminate the most of the lines at the front of the plate. Best to calibrate your filament separately once and store the result on the printer (Studio), or in the filament preset (OrcaSlicer).
The remaining “Load Line” is quick and useful to establish good flow at the beginning of the print, so it should be kept. If it interferes with large prints that must use that part of the plate, it can be edited in Printer Settings preset | Machine gcode | Machine start G-code where it is added in a section labelled “Nozzle Load Line”.
The Studio code editor is primitive, has a very narrow window and is generally difficult to use. The OrcaSlicer editor is a bit better, with resizable window, but it still lacks a “Find” feature to quickly locate code sections. I recommend copying the entire code (Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C), pasting into the text editor of your choice, editing, and then pasting the entire modified code back into the slicer editor.
Save as a User preset for future use, or as a Preset Inside Project if the changes will be specific to that one project.
I don’t recommend removing the Load Line entirely, but it can be shortened or moved if you understand how to change the coordinates.
Turning off flow rate calibration before the print DOES NOTHING. It still prints ALL the lines, just like going to the calibration screen and doing an auto calibration. Every. Single. Time. It doesn’t matter if I tick the box, untick the box, turn it on and back off… It has zero effect. I’ve been searching and searching and have found nothing about how to fix it!
That was a bug in the old firmware, I believe—at least mine behaved that way, even with that feature unchecked. I think it only happened if you started the print from Handy.
Which firmware version are you using?
Are you able to provide a little more detail? What firmware version are you using? How are you transferring gcode to the printer? I’m assuming this is a X1C? Are you able to attach the .3mf file you’re having issues with so others can test it?
I’m on 2.0.3.54 on studio and whatever the latest is on handy. I’m printing stuff directly from the app, like stuff found in Maker world. Doesn’t matter what I print, every one still does it. Doesn’t matter if I start it on the computer, phone, or printer either. I’d love to go back to where I could use Orca!

The latest version of printer firmware has a bug fix for problem that sounds like it might relate to you.

I don’t usually print from Makerworld, because 90% of the time I prefer LAN mode and the control I get with a computer-based slicer, but …
I switched to cloud mode, picked out a MW model with Android Handy 3.2.0 and deselected levelling and automatic flow calibration. The model is printing from Handy now, but you can see from the screenshot there are no calibration lines, only the nozzle load line.
You CAN use OrcaSlicer with an X1C. Use LAN mode and select developer mode on the printer if you have firmware 1.08.05 or later. Or rollback to firmware 1.08.02 to stay in cloud mode and avoid the authorization nonsense altogether.

That does sound like a fix for printing from Handy, but @BusDriver seems to have the same problem with Studio. Worth a try, at least.
