Why is the frame rate / refresh rate for the camera so slow?
Is it possible to increase the refresh rate?

Nope.
Limitation of the MCU/AP board. It is what it is. Supposed to be a timelapse camera and to just “check in”.
Some users use blink minis, wyze cams and others for viewing.
