Frostbyte settings in H2D

Hi, i open this post only for find the best setting for use Frostbyte / Cryogrip / geco or another plates.

The only solution for use this plate is disable QR, and make a change in all PLA, PETG Profiles?

Change the Smooth plate / high temp for me is the best option, anyone know how to do it and set the default temp for all PLA’s for example (i don’t use this smooth plate and i want to use the frostbyte in this place).

This post isn’t a discussion if plate is good or bad only info for ppl who want to config the plate.

There are models on Maker world like this one which allow you to place a QR code on your 3rd party plate. I use the smooth plate one together with the high temp smooth plate setting in Bambu Studio for the Frostbite. It works perfectly with the auto plate detection.

Does the camera read the QR on the plate or the color of the plate (during plate detection)

It’s posible to change the default bed temp for the high temp smooth plate? Idk how to change this setting without change it in all filaments (i use 4-5 diferent PLA and others?

As far as I know, just the QR code.

I think it’s done through the filament settings, where you can set temps for different build plates.

Since I’ve had the frostbite and glacier, the performance while heated has been perfect, so I haven’t tried to use them as cool plates yet. But perhaps someone else on the forum can add their experience and workflow for dropping bed temps.

45c for pla works great. 55c for petg

Ok with the QR make it easier i go to make all new profiles for lower the temp of the Smooth plate high temp (frostbite for me).

Thanks for the info i searched in some posts but are post with discussion about best plates not how to use it.

Does the Frostbite plate not come with the code stickers to stick onto it?

mine did, not sure if they all do. I have several glacier and frostbite plates and I have stickers that mimic the QR code.

Their website says the AR code is printed on the 256mm Frostbite, but doesn’t say specifically if the others come with a sticker. The Glacier says it comes with an AR sticker. These may no longer be accurate – my Glacier came with the code printed on the plate despite their chart saying I would get a sticker. /shrug

Ive been reading online that many people have had luck by simply selecting the textured plate in their slicer, and printing on the frostbite. This way the aux fan doesnt need to be turned off etc (for PLA/PETG).
Anyone here tried this? I though the point of the frostbite was that you print at LOWER bed temperatures, not at the standard textured bed temperatures??

I am printing mainly just PLA, and my printer is located in my outbuilding - so a colder environment…

I use the new Cool Plate SuperTack selection for the Frostbite. For PLA, it defaults to 45C, which should be good since the Frostbite says 30C - 50C is the range for PLA.
I then manually drop it to 30F during the print.
