I’m thinking about upgrading from the X1C to the H2S because my parts are 239mm wide and I’ve been having to split them in half and tongue & groove bolt them together.
My concern though is that my part is exactly 339mm and just barely makes it on the H2S build plate… What luck! why couldn’t they just go to 350mm!
So that leaves me with about 1mm for a brim and I am wondering if I will be able to successfully print the parts in ABS without warping. The parts are 339mm x 235mm
Yes, you will be able to successfully print this without a brim or warping. I have had zero problems with warping on several very large ABS prints.
Edit: I should have added, the heated chamber makes a huge difference and eliminates a lot of warping problems without the need to tinker with settings.
Ordered one, my biggest concern is when printing the lid. it’s mostly going to be support material on the build plate and then the edges of the lid. Concerned that the edges are going to warp of the platform. They do now on my X1C unless I use PLA.
Hmmm thats an idea… That is only half of it… i have to print it in two half on the X1C and it has tongue and groove and m2 bolts with threaded inserts. That half takes 10 hours so both will take 20hrs on the H2S laying flat. Might double that standing on end.
The surface might not look as good either but I can run some tests
I got my H2S in but I am having issues with ABS printing. Hoping some of you may have some answers…
I am printing with the stock .4 nozzle, .08 high quality profile, ABS.
all of the corners are warping.
its leave little blobs of debris all over the plate and the edges are rough.
Wondering if it is my flow rate and / or nozzle temp
when in doubt, use carbon fibre or glass fibre, and don’t use 0.08mm for filaments that are not ideal for it. Go for as low as 0.16 for 0.4mm nozzles, any lower than that can easily trigger lots of problems on large parts.
