Gaps between layer lines issue








Hi, can anyone help me to figure out what’s problem im facing off? there’s some gaps issue between bottom and outer wall ( its overhang tiny bit )

i did tried several things, infill gaps, bump infill overlaps. but the issue still there.

is there a way to fix this?
if i get larger nozzle will it fix the issue? ( im in 0.4 )
is the model aren’t capable to be printed in vase mode?

would love to receive some help pls. thank you

First things first. What is the result when you disable fuzzy skin? Do the gaps appear? I ask because fuzzy skin is very fickle and prone to these types of errors. The first step in troubleshooting is to start with the basics and then move forward in incremental steps until the problem appears again and then back off.

I tried without fuzzy first and its getting worst than before. my printer right now is printing with a few adjustment. i did tweak a layer height and change my pattern to concentric, the line flow look better

but the gaps is still there there actually.

Thanks for posting the model. It helps a lot in taking the guesswork out of diagnostics.

First: If I may offer a suggestion: the slicer preview is just that - a preview. While it’s a useful tool, it’s not a perfect diagnostic, and what you see on screen isn’t always what ends up on the print, as you likely know.

This example is what I mean. In the preview one would presume the sliced was predicting gaps, however, that does not mean that’s what will print in the real world especially since you’ve modified the wall widths. The slicer rendering algorithm is far from perfect.

For troubleshooting, it’s important to change only one variable at a time. From what you’ve shared, it seems like you’re placing a lot of trust in the slicer’s predictive view. That can be misleading. What would really help is an actual print result after disabling fuzzy skin - seeing the physical outcome is often far more telling than the preview alone.

So that you don’t waste filament and time, the generally accepted best diagnostic practice when one is not achieving desired results is to use the cut tool and isolate the offending portion of the model and reproduce the problem using smaller sections. This allows for rapidly repeatable experimentation and diagnostics.

Model and 3MF analysis.

Now that I have the entire 3MF to review. I can see you made several tweaks to in addition to vase mode. As mentioned above, you want to disable everything and go back to a default profile and then add back in each feature. Here’s some examples of what I am referring to. While none of these in and of themselves is a problem, it’s potentially the combination that is the problem. Personally, I’ve never tried this combination of settings and I think you are in pioneer mode here which means you’ll likely be the first one to test these features out in this combo. Conquering this can have its own rewards.

I’ve never used these in this combination but the X/Y smoothing is something I would start by disabling, it could create exactly the kind of issue you’re reporting in vase mode. Try disabling it with a test piece but print two models so you can have a before and after.

This is another area I’d look at. Try to change the outer wall/inner wall thickness back to the defaults. Then implement one at a time.

However, I think I see what you’re trying to do hear and I’m guessing you making the wrong walls thicker. Try toggling the check boxes in the preview screen to note which line width you are impacting. Then target only those segments for line width experimentation.
