Gembird PVA is not pure, not 100% soluble in water

I print a lot of PVA for fishing etc., and also use it for support for special printing projects.

When using it as support I use Bambu Lab PVA since it dissolves 100%, but it is expensive.

Therefore, I tried different budget PVA options and got a spool of Gembird PVA for 1/5 of the price of a Bambu Lab PVA. Turns out it’s not pure and will not completely dissolve in water. For support it will work since residues are soft, but for fishing bait boxes not so much.

This is what’s left after soaking a 40x40x40 cube in 50°C water for 48 hours.

You have me interested. Why do you use PVA for bait boxes?

Easy to bait where I want it and it dissolves pretty slowly in the water so every fish stays longer at the bait site.
But as I said, Gembird PVA is not for this purpose :frowning:
