Have to agree - It took me about 30 minutes to figure this out. It’s a complete waste of time…
I’m obviously searching for my issue - Not how to post
I’m not able to find my issue - Now I’m trying to find out where to post
I found where, but now I can’t post - Now i’m trying to find out HOW to post
I can’t figure it out so I revert to reddit and Google - Wasting my time I try to give feedback
I’m now finding THIS post and reading your “standard requirements” - I literally just went and clicked on 5 topics without reading anything… if that’s how you guys want to do it…
I can post now Great! I’m so happy to have followed the rules, i’ve learnt so much…
Get real, either let people use the forum by improving the process or deal with more of this backlash. You probably have caused more grief than a standard amount of spam would have. Just throw in a captcha and limit first time posts to like 3… It’s not like anyone genuinely looking for assistance is going to make more than like 1 post anyways.
Edit: I’m still level 1 and cannot post on a Topic - Nice
I just want to re-iterate what has been said many times before: initial use of this forum is super unintuitive and annoying
This was my process:
I am trying to find a “post new message” button, can’t find it anywhere
Yes, I skim read the “intro” message from the discobot but the detail about not being able to post in the forums upon registration is not in the message. I have to click a link in the message to a long blog post to understand this. This is ridiculous.
I run out of ideas and just Google “bambulab forum create post link” and then the first result is from Reddit and summarises exactly how I feel at this point: Am I being dumb? Where is the button to make a new post
In this reddit thread is the details of having to “Reading at least 30 posts” etc
Just an awful experience after having spent $100s on a printer.
Here’s my suggestions to fix it: Put a big red banner or something that is unmissable in the forums that says something to the effect of “You are not allowed to post yet. You need to do X, Y and Z first”
I assume this process is to stop spam or something? Please just find a better solution
While I agree with you I’ve come to the conclusion that this won’t solve the problem. Plain and simple, some people do not care to read the requirements. I have had users more than once directly reply to my post that details exactly what they have to do to be able to post, “why can’t I post?!?!”.
I understand it’s frustrating on a new forum member side to not be able to post out of the gate but it is equally frustrating on the community here when people can’t be bothered to do a little research and educate themselves regarding their problem/topic. A good majority of question have been answered many times on the forum.
The other advantage of getting new forum members to read the forum is that it encourages them to become part of the community. This is the Bambu Lab Community forum. It isn’t the Bambu customer service forum. Coming here and expecting answers to your questions because you spend “$100’s” is not fair to the people who give freely of their time and knowledge to answer questions on the forum.
Yes and it does a very good job of it. You might be surprised how many spam accounts are generated per day but can’t post because of the requirements. I delete on average 5-10 arounts per day that get flagged by the forum software because they haven’t read a single post.
Thanks for taking the time to read my rant, @JonRaymond

Fair comment!

Absolutely, that’s what users do. But look at the steps I detailed above? The problem is not the spam protection measures, the problem is the UX.
Maybe a big read banner is a dumb idea (it is) but how about just a greyed out “New Topic” button with alt-text that mentions the requirements to post? This would have saved me all those steps and 30 mins. This UI element already exists at the higher level:
Maybe there’s no option like that in this forum system though…
You’re absolutely correct and as you said, you are echoing what has been said many times before. The requirements are 100% not communicated well.
I plan to try to update (to the extent that I am able to as a moderator) some of the first posts that users encounter with better information. Hopefully that will help. It’s on my todo list but it’s summer time here and my free time is very limited.
If you are truly interested in the community here and how to make things better can I ask you read and perhaps weigh in on my “Community Town Hall” thread?
This is what I’ve been trying to post in the troubleshooting for the A1:
(apologies up front if this is a bit long-winded, want to convey what I’ve done to try and resolve)
Hello! and thank you in advance for any suggestions/resolutions - I finished setting up a brand new A1 Combo a couple hours ago, connected to my wifi network and began the calibration process. Nope.
What occurs:
•The Z axis will travel upward about 20mm, then back down 20mm where it started
•Then back up 20mm, to the right about 20mm, to the left all the way to the filament cutter (that I took off; which was something mentioned in a post, and on a YouTube video).
•The bed will move all the way back, then forward half way while simultaneously the print head will travel to the middle
•Next, the print head will raise only about 10-20mm and generate the Calibration Failed message.
The pop up Error has given different codes, yet identical verbiage: “Printing stopped because homing Z axis failed”

• Machine Assist shows (2) issues: 1. “The toolhead is malfunctioning, please restart” 2. “The data from extrusion force sensor is abnormal, the sensor should be broken”
Attempts to resolve:
• Visually verified to ensure no debris in either lead screws
• Also checked for any debris in the belts
• Disconnected the AMS Lite unit; just in case…
• I have removed the cutter from the rail; mentioned as a fix/resolution
• I followed each of the guides within Bambu Handy, read through related posts, searched YT etc. to no avail.
• USB-C underneath; and on top of the print head; checked, removed, refastened, checked again and repeated the process a second time.
• The guide for the extrusion force sensor… I took the back plate off the print head, checked the two posts to see if were proper and tighten; they were, and checked again to make sure not loose.
• I also removed the device from my app, then re-added it; just for giggles as sometimes that resolves issues for other things.
Incredibly frustrating to say the least, if anyone has a fix/resolution to pass along please do, as I’m really not looking forward to boxing everything back up and returning it - any help would be truly appreciated.
Since I can’t make a post, I’ll just ask my question here. It’s super frustrating that basic functionality of a forum (making a post) is blocked, so I hope me asking a question that’s off topic here is frustrating to the mods and motivates them to let people make posts.
I have a bambu a1, and I’m trying to print game pieces with two colors on a flat top surface with ironing, however there’s usually a gap between the two colors, about .5mm between them. The gap doesn’t seem to exist between the layers underneath the top surface, and it’s not on every piece I print, but it is on a lot of them. Does anyone have any ideas of what could be going on?
agreed, it’s frankly stupid that you have an issue with your printer and can’t ask about it right after you create your account. that’s why I creates the account in the first place! absolutely ridiculous
Besides bots and spam, they also eliminate users with real problems that need help solving them. Yes, I spent hours reading threads that could potentially help me (sadly none of them did) but I did that while unregistered, so none of it counted! They could at least force you to login in to read, that way that time would count. The way it works now is seriously not good for anyone needing help, it just pushes new users away
